Why China?

China’s healthcare market is the second largest in the world and continues to receive ever increasing levels of private and public sector investment. The sector does face a wide range of challenges: ongoing urban and rural disparity; an ageing population and the rising burden of non-communicable diseases. These difficulties, in line with continued improvement of living standards and rising household disposable income, provide opportunities for UK companies seeking to grow their export business in the Chinese market.

The Chinese government is firmly committed to healthcare development as evidenced by the Healthy China 2030 planning outline, demonstrating an ever-liberalising approach to market and regulatory access.

The Chinese market is far from a quick win, but for companies that consult with the right partners, the rewards can be great. Drawing on trade experts at the Department for International Trade, China-Britain Business Council, legal advisors NJ Akers and regulatory specialists Cisema, this webinar is suitable for companies within the medical devices and digital health fields.

Opportunities in these areas are there to be seized; nearly 50% of China’s $52 billion medical device market is accounted for by imports and with a continued strategy centred on digital solutions to both relieve existing challenges and provide a more stable and accessible healthcare model, the timing has never been more optimal for South West companies to look at this exciting market.
