UK-France GREAT Campaign Open Call

Multi year

GREAT

The GREAT Britain and Northern Ireland campaign (GREAT) is the UK’s international promotional campaign. Live in 164 countries, it works closely with businesses, not-for-profit organisations and high-profile figures to promote the very best of the UK, encouraging the world to visit, study, live and do business with us.

The GREAT Campaign, in partnership with British Embassy Paris, Department for Business & Trade, VisitBritain & The British Council, will deliver an exciting eighteen-month campaign in France, the ‘UK-France GREAT Campaign’. This provides a unique opportunity to improve the UK’s attractiveness to a French audience - driving important increases in trade, tourism and international students.

Across 2023 and 2024, several significant events will be taking place in France, including:

  • Rugby World Cup (Autumn 2023)

  • The Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games (Summer 2024)

In addition to these events, the UK-France GREAT campaign programme will be made up of:

  • RWC Roadshow - Pop-Up UK House in Marseille, Bordeaux and Lille during the Rugby World Cup. Open for three days in each location, and coinciding with games, this experiential space will promote the best stories of UK non-conformity from different aspects of culture and business.

  • Trade and Investment events - Series of events to engage key business and political stakeholders in France to support the UK Government’s commercial objectives.

  • VVIP events – Exclusive networking events made up of senior business decision makers and UK HMG representatives.

  • ‘Together We Imagine: Spotlight on Culture’ (Spring - Summer) - In partnership with the British Council, ‘Spotlight on Culture’ will be a ground- breaking multidisciplinary arts programme across France. The programme will include a diverse range of performances, exhibitions, public events, delegations and practitioner workshops.

  • Programme of consumer facing and business focussed activity taking place during the Olympics & Paralympics.

  • Networking events and receptions to be held at Paris Fashion Week and the Cannes Film Festival.

  • Media campaign - Physical activity to be complemented by a multichannel paid media campaign, helping to amplify core campaign messaging across France and providing an opportunity to showcase partners.

Audience

The UK-France GREAT campaign will bring together an audience of senior political and business leaders as well as sports fans and tourists from France and around the world throughout the Rugby World Cup and the Olympics and Paralympics.

Sponsorship

The UK Government is inviting corporate sponsors to support the delivery of the GREAT programme both financially and through the provision of value in kind. We are particularly interested in businesses and organisations who are aligned to the themes of the programme.

Sponsorship provides a powerful platform to:

  • Create positive brand positioning within France.

  • Showcase industry leadership / product innovation.

  • Engage other UK and global businesses in France at the time of both the Rugby World Cup and the Olympic Games.

  • Build new relationships and meet with potential business partners and collaborators at VIP receptions and events.

  • Demonstrate thought leadership through involvement with our VVIP events.

While the UK Government will look to create bespoke rights packages for sponsors, typical rights will include:

  • Branding across the campaign venues.

  • Showcasing opportunities.

  • Invitations to exclusive VIP events.

  • High level networking opportunities.

  • Use of British Embassy for private events during the tournament.

  • Support in promoting the partnership via GREAT channels.

*Prospective sponsors will be required to align with the programme themes and undergo due diligence checks from the Cabinet Office and Department for Business and Trade to comply with robust UK Government standards
