Hej Malmö!
Malmö is a coastal city in southern Sweden. It lies at the eastern end of the impressive Öresund bridge, a long road and railway bridge/ tunnel running to Copenhagen, Denmark.
Malmö is the third largest city in Sweden, after Stockholm and Gothenburg, and it is a vibrant city that offers a unique blend of history, culture and modernity. You can see the charming old square of Lilla Torg with its quaint buildings and cobblestone paths lined with restaurants and cafes, as well as seeing striking new architecture such as the iconic Turning Torso building and aforementioned Öresund bridge.
Getting to and from Malmö
Please aim to arrive in Malmö on Monday 2nd December as the conference will start at 09:00 on Tuesday 3rd December. We will have a 1.5 day conference aiming to finish at 13:00 on Wednesday 4th December. Any flights departing after 15:30 should be fine. If you cannot get any flights on 4th December you should take the next available flight on Thursday 5th.
Although Malmö does have it's own airport, there are very few destinations that actually go to and from it (unless you're flying from Greek or Spanish holiday destinations apparently!) so we advise that you fly into Copenhagen airport.
From Copenhagen airport it is very easy to get to Malmö. As you walk through the arrivals plaza at the airport, you will see signs for trains. There are only 2 tracks: one heading to Copenhagen city, and one heading to Sweden! There are red ticket machines in the hall with Swedish flags on them to show you where to buy your ticket.
You can switch the language to English or another if needed. Choose the destination as MALMO C (Central). The ticket prices are cheaper the more you buy - Group saver! So please do check if anyone is arriving around the same time as you and buy tickets as a collective. You can pay using your Corporate credit card and you can ask for a receipt. The screen will then tell you how long before the next departing train and which platform.
KEEP YOUR TICKET HANDY!
You may be checked on the train for the ticket. You may also get checked for your passport.
Getting to the hotel
From Malmö Central station it is a 10 minute walk to the hotel:
