Delegates are responsible for arranging and paying for their own flights and airport transfers.
Hotel
We have received a discounted rate for the mission delegates from Holiday Inn Tuzla Bay, which is close to the event venue.
- We request the delegates to book their rooms via direct e-mail to Mr. Mustafa Ozcan on email: mustafa.ozcan@hiistanbultuzla.com with ‘British Consulate General Istanbul – Delegation’ as the subject of your e-mail.
- Mustafa Ozcan will send you a reservation confirmation email.

Airport
Sabiha Gokcen Airport (SAW) is recommended as it is much closer to Tuzla area.
• Taxi prices below are for guidance only.
• Please note that taxis are yellow cabs.
• Turquoise and black taxis have higher rates..
• Meters are compulsory.
SAW Sabiha Gokcen Airport to the Tuzla – Holiday Inn:
14 km. Yellow taxi costs approximately 350 TL.
IST Istanbul Airport to Tuzla – Holiday Inn:
80 km. Yellow taxi costs approximately 1,900 TL.
Pulic Transport
You will need an Istanbul Card to use public transport, which is available at the vending machines at SAW metro station.Site Visit Transfers
The DBT team will arrange transfers for the site visit on 7 March.
Passport validity requirements
If you are visiting Turkiye, your passport must:
be valid for at least 150 days from the date you arrive
have a full blank page for entry and exit stamps
If you are a resident in Turkiye, your passport must be valid for 6 months from the date you arrive.
If entering Turkiye through a land border, make sure your passport has a dated entry stamp before you leave the border crossing.
Visa requirements
You can visit Turkiye without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period, for business or tourism.If you want to stay in Turkiye for more than 90 days, you must get a short-term residence permit before the end of your stay.
If you hold a different type of British nationality, such as British National (Overseas), check visa requirements with the Turkish Embassy or Consulate General before you travel.
Applying for a visa
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has information on applying for a visa. If you plan to work in Turkey, make sure you have the right permits.
Exchanging Money
- Always use Official Bureau de Change, or Banks
- 24 hour Bureau de Change available at the Airport
- Turkish Lira can be drawn at most cash point (ATM) machines using debit cards
Credit Card Use
- Widespread use around the country in shops, restaurants and hotels and even markets.
- Sometimes a percentage is added for using a credit card (between 2 and 10%).
- Can also be used in a lot of the taxis – those who accept a CC will have signs on car doors.
- Ensure your bank/credit card provider is aware you are in Turkey as cards may become blocked due to high levels of fraud worldwide.
Other useful information
- Tipping. Usually 10% in restaurants only.
- Bargaining/haggling is acceptable in touristic shops and expected in markets.
- Tap water is not usually drinkable. Bottled water costs about £0.20 per litre.

With this in mind, we encourage you to book your flights as soon as you have received confirmation of acceptance from us due to price hikes.
Once your place has been confirmed, we will email you with details on how to submit your travel information.
We require this by Friday 31 January at 16h00 to confirm your commitment on this trade mission. If we do not receive your travel details by the deadline, we will unfortunately have to offer your place to someone on the waitlist.
Trade Mission Delegation eDirectory
Logo and company profile deadline: Friday 7 February 2025 at 16h00
We will be producing a delegation eDirectory for the trade mission.
Once you have receievd confirmation from us, we will email you with details on how to submit your eDirectory information.
Logo Specifications
Logo's need to be as high resolution as possible (minimum 300dpi).
Submission Deadline
The deadline for the eDirectory submission is Friday, 7 February at 16h00.
Unfortunately, any late submissions will not feature in the eDirectory.
