The 3rd Midlands Future Mobility
Trade Mission to Türkiye

Event date: 5 - 7 March 2025
Location: Istanbul, Türkiye

 

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is delighted to invite businesses from across the Midlands to submit an expression of interest to participate in a trade mission to Turkiye.

The programme is designed for export-ready companies who operate in automotive and future mobility sectors and interested in doing business with Turkiye and wider Eastern Europe and Central Asia region (Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan).

 

About the Market

Türkiye has a strong automotive manufacturing industry including OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and Tier 1, Tier 2 suppliers. As of 2022, the country’s automotive production is ranked in 4th place in Europe and 13th in the world. In terms of commercial vehicle production, Türkiye is ranked the 1st in Europe.

With an annual production capacity of 2 million vehicles and 1 million vehicles exported, automotive is the leading sector for the country’s exports.

Aligning with global trends, Türkiye’s automotive sector is shifting towards cleaner solutions, with growing production of electric vehicles and a focus on innovative technologies like connected and autonomous driving, as well as hydrogen solutions for commercial vehicles.

 

Who should attend?

The mission is suitable for Midlands-based companies who are already exporting or ready to export and are specialist in the following areas:

  • autonomous drive technologies,
  • battery manufacturing and management,
  • vehicle lightweighting,
  • vehicle design and engineering services,
  • hydrogen fuel cell technology and hydrogen internal combustion engines,
  • automotive cybersecurity solutions,
  • fleet optimisation systems.

 

Why should you join this trade mission?

Pre-mission activities will include:

  • Virtual pre-visit briefing to prepare your business for the mission
  • Feature in the trade mission e-brochure
  • Introduction to the local DBT team in Türkiye who will be able to provide an overview of current opportunities

In-market activities:

  • Pitching session to showcase your products and services to a large audience including OEMs, suppliers, technology companies, and business associations in Türkiye 
  • B2B meetings with potential buyers
  • Site visit to an OEM facility

 

Costs

There is no fee to attend this mission, but delegates will need to pay for their own travel, subsistence and hotel costs.

This mission is only open to UK registered companies. Submission of an EOI does not constitute acceptance. All EOIs are reviewed and shortlisted. DBT retains the right to review and select appropriate participants.
