The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is bringing together Commercial Officers from five Southern European markets to host 1-2-1 meetings with companies from across the Midlands.

These in-market experts will be showcasing export opportunities for both product and service providers, as well as offering insight and guidance into their markets. This event promises to be an action-packed day where new business relationships are established.

Who is it for?

This roadshow is targeted at companies based within the Midlands who are export ready with a High Export Potential (HEP). HEP businesses are defined as:

• Having a turnover of £500,000 or more per annum
• Having a product or service suitable for export

France

France is one of the UK's largest export markets and a major global economy. In easy reach of the UK, it offers many export opportunities for businesses offering innovative, quality products.

Greece

Situated in the Eastern Mediterranean, Greece is at the crossroads of three continents - Europe, Asia and Africa. The majority of the economy comprises of the services sector, with tourism playing a large part.

Italy

Italy is one of the UK’s closest trading partners and biggest export markets, and presents significant opportunities for UK businesses. There is demand for defence, cyber security, aerospace and engineering skills. Trade with the city of Milan and the surrounding region is especially strong.

Portugal

Located on the western edge of the Iberian peninsula, Portugal is a good market for UK exporters. Anchored by the world’s oldest bilateral alliance trade links are strong, particularly within the tourism industry and expat communities.

Spain

Spain is located in Southwestern Europe and borders France and Portugal. It is one of the biggest consumer markets in the EU and with a population of 46.4 million it provides a large consumer base for UK exporters to sell to. Spain is one of the top 10 largest trading partners of the UK. There is a demand for UK goods and services which UK businesses looking to export could benefit from.
