A totally new treatment regime

This summit explored some of the amazing leaps that are being taken in research around the UK and how they will allow mankind to thrive in the future.  Areas of specialism will include New Therapies, Nanomedicine, Regenerative Medicine, Immunotherapy and Gene Editing. The session explored the contributions the field of research is making, how we collaborate internationally on these programmes and looked at some of the hurdles that this research needs to overcome.

Creating a society based around happiness will reduce the burden on future healthcare systems

This panel focused on how best to deliver healthcare systems and societal changes that help to promote well-being.  However good the healthcare systems are what does a society need to do better to deliver improved happiness? The panel addressed the challenges being faced by both developed and less developed nations in mental health and well-being and share leading thought provoking approaches that may lead to better health for all nations in the future.

the patient journey of the future - what will it feel and look like?

Speakers include:

This panel took a journey through a personalised healthcare plan of the future; how will it be different? They explored the emerging features including centralized digital centres to enable decision making (think: air traffic control for hospitals), continuous clinical monitoring, targeted treatments (such as 3D printing for surgeries), and the use of smaller, portable devices which will help characterise acute-care hospitals. Digital and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and robotic process automation (RPA) can allow care givers to spend more time providing care and less time documenting it. The panel also considered the impact of digital supplychains, automation, robotics, and next-generation interoperability that could drive operations management and back-office efficiencies.
