Things you need to know

Weather

The daily average temperature for Bangkok in September is usually around 29°C and it's still very warm, despite the high chance of showers. The temperature is only 2 degrees warmer than what we would consider our coldest month, January. The highest ever recorded temperature in September for Bangkok is 37°C with the lowest being 22°C. However, temperatures are generally consistent with the averages for each month.--

Time Zone

Thailand follows UTC+07:00. It is used all year round as Thailand does not observe daylight saving time.

Currency

Thai baht is the official currency of Thailand. Credit cards are accepted only in shopping malls and decent restaurants. Only cash is used for transportation services. 

Courtesy

Tips are always welcome if you are satisfied with the service you received. Thai people are one of the most smiling people in the world, so do not be afraid to smile for any reason. They are always pleased to offer help whenever you need.

Electrical Standard

The electricity in Thailand is 220 volts. If you have an appliance with a 3-prong plug but the wall offers only a 2-prong receptacle, then it is recommended that you NOT break off the third prong but instead buy an adapter plug at the hardware store. Adapter plugs to go between the different receptacles can be purchased for cheap at hardware stores all over.

Official Language

Thai is an official language of Thailand. However, English is also widely used to communicate. Please do not be afraid to ask for help, Thai people might not be able to speak English fluently but surely they'll be able to communicate.

Country Code

The Thailand country code +66 will allow you to call Thailand from another country. Thailand telephone code 66 is dialed after the IDD. Thailand international dialing +66 is followed by an area code, Bangkok area code is +662.

1. AOT Limousine

Suvarnabhumi International Airport

AOT Limousine counter is situated at the arrival hall and the service would cost you around 1,050 THB. Although the fee is more expensive compared with a normal taxi, an AOT Limousine is cleaner and well-known for having polite drivers who know all the streets in Bangkok really well and they would also help you with your luggage.

2. Airport Taxi Service

Suvarnabhumi International Airport

The service is available 24 hours. The platform is on the 1st floor, Gate 4 and 7. Normally, the service of the Taxi on the 1st floor will run by meter. A credit card payment is not available, therefore, we recommend you to change the equivalent of 1,000 THB at the arrival zone inside of the airport.

The fee is charged according to the travel distance. In case you would like the driver to take the expressway, you have to specify and this would cost you around 75 THB more.

Don Mueang International Airport

Taxi Service: The platform is on the 1st floor, Gate 8 and 15.
Car and Van Service: The platform is on the on the 1st floor, Gate 12.-
