  2. When you are using our Site we expect that you are over the age of 18. However we do hope that students and future students are as engaged in their learning and education as their parents. So if you are looking at our Site and are under 18 and/or a minor, then the use of the Site is subject to the consent of your parent or guardian.

    As educators, protecting the online privacy of children is especially important to us. We advise parents or guardians who permit their children to use the Site, and in particular any interactive element of the Site, that they should make their child aware of the potential risks to them.

    • not to advertise, promote or endorse any goods or services and not use our site to send any chain letters, junk mail, 'spamming' material or any other form of bulk communication.

    We may investigate any reported breach of these Terms and Conditions or complaints and take any action that we deem appropriate (which may include, without limitation, removing any of your information, issuing warnings, suspending, restricting or terminating your access to and/or removing any Content from the Site.

Any User Content that is not your personal information will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. As you go you should be aware that we don't have any control over these third party sites. We are not responsible for the content, advertising, or information available from them, or for any dealings or disputes that you may have in relation to those sites.

  21. Disputes
  22. For the purposes of this section you are a consumer if you access the site for reasons outside your trade, business or profession.

    As a consumer you agree to use the Site (or any part of it) in accordance with all applicable laws relevant to the location (jurisdiction) from which you access the Site.

    These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim in relation to them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by English law and we reserve the right to bring proceedings in the courts in any location (the English courts, your country of residence or whichever forum) we feel is appropriate.

    If you are not a consumer, any such dispute or claim will be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration under the arbitration rules of the DIFC-LCIA Arbitration Centre, which rules are deemed to be incorporated by reference into this paragraph. The number of arbitrators shall be one. The seat, or legal place, of arbitration shall be Dubai, UAE. The language to be used in the arbitration shall be English.

    We always recommend that you should seek local legal advice, however please speak to us first if you have any concerns to see if they can be resolved.

  23. General
  24. If any of these terms are deemed invalid or unenforceable for any reason (including, but not limited to the exclusions and limitations set out above), then the remaining terms will continue to apply.

    Unless we otherwise expressly agree in writing, these terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and us with respect to your use of the Site and the Content and, if you are not a consumer, supersede all discussions, communications, conversations and agreements concerning the subject matter hereof.

    If we fail to insist that you perform any of your obligations under these terms and conditions, or if we do not enforce our rights against you, or if we delay in doing so, that will not mean that we have waived our rights against you and will not mean that you do not have to comply with those obligations. If we do waive a default by you, we will only do so in writing, and that will not mean that we will automatically waive any later default by you.

Delivery Process

Delivery Policy for Global Education & Skills Forum Tickets
This page covers the shipping & delivery policy of event tickets for the Global Education and Skills Forum purchased on this website.

  1. If you register for the Global Education and Skills Forum event (‘the Forum’) you will need access to a printer to print the details, or otherwise save the details. You can do this by opening your confirmation email and print receipt.
  2. Can I print my tickets immediately after purchase? Yes, as soon as you receive your conformation email you can print your ticket receipt. If you have not received your email confirmation within 48 hours please Contact Us.
  3. I lost my receipt – can I print another copy? The ticket you purchased is only for your and will have your name and details on the receipt. If you have lost your receipt, you can print another copy from your confirmation email. If you have problems printing or saving your receipt or finding your confirmation email, you are welcome to contact our team using the Contact Us details.
  4. Whilst we will have your recorded purchase, we strongly recommend that you bring your ticket receipt to the Forum. No hard copy will be posted or delivered to you.
  5. You can only purchase tickets directly from the Forum website.
  6. There are no service fees, order processing fees or delivery fees applied to your ticket purchase for the Forum.
  7. Card details of your card purchase will be recorded only for the purposes of processing your payment, as per our Event Payment and Refund Policy.

Event Payment and Cancellation Refund Policy

  1. Event payment
    1. Payment for the Global Education and Skills Forum ("Forum") must be received via the payment methods offered within fourteen calendar days of registration for the Forum.We would be sorry to cancel your registration if payment is not received within these times but have the right to do so.

    2. Unless via prior [written]agreement in accordance with these terms, no 'walk ins' unconfirmed or unpaid delegates will be allowed to attend the Forum.

  2. Cancellation by the Organiser
    1. The Varkey Foundation ("the Organiser") reserves the right to cancel or postpone the Forum, for any reason whatsoever.

    2. Should the event be cancelled, all registered delegates will be contacted and notified as soon as is reasonably practicable. Any fees paid by you ("the Delegate") will be refunded within sixty days, in accordance with Paragraph 4.

    3. The Organiser is not responsible for any cancellation fees incurred by the Delegate (including but not limited to travel, accommodation, etc) should the Forum be cancelled or postponed for any reason.

  3. Cancellation by you, the Delegate
    1. If you wish to cancel your attendance at the Event, such notice needs to be received in writing by the Organiser at least 10 days prior to the Event. This applies to all Delegates.

    2. If after payment for the Event, you are unable to attend for any reason whatsoever, you are welcome to nominate someone else to attend in your place at no additional cost, subject to the Organiser approving the substituted Delegate. Subject to our consent, kindly contact the Organiser with the details of the person attending in your place, so a correct name tag will be available at the registration desk.

  4. Refund Amount and Method
    1. For payments received by credit or debit cards, the same credit/debit card will be refunded. If the card supplied is no longer active, the Organiser will contact you once to request new bank account details.

    2. For all other payments, a bank transfer will be made to the payee nominated account. For payments received from outside the UK by bank transfer, the refund will be made by bank transfer and all bank charges will be for the registrants account.

    3. Refund requests will be processed as follows:

      • 100% refunded if the cancellation is received thirty (30) or more calendar days in advance of the Forum date.

      • 50% refunded if the cancellation is received less than thirty (30) days but more than twenty (20) calendar days in advance of the Forum date.

      • 25% refunded if the cancellation is received less than twenty (20) days and more than ten (10) calendar days in advance of the Forum date.

      • No refunds if the cancellation is received less than ten (10) calendar days in advance of the Forum date.

  5. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Event Payment and Cancellation Refund Policy at any time.
