Important security rules
Due to the security rules in place in the building, it is imperative that anyone wishing to enter the building, is in possession of the following documents:
  • A print out of the "e-pass" that you will receive by email a couple of days before the conference to show to security at the entrance to the building;
  • A valid piece of photo identification (eg. passport, ID card, driver’s license, etc.) to show to security at the entrance to the building and at the Conference's registration desk;
  • A print out of the confirmation email with the barcode that you will receive by email a couple of days before the conference to show at the registration desk.

Interpretation will be provided from/to the following languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Polish.

The European Tourism Day will take place in the Charlemagne building in Brussels, Belgium. All sessions will take place in the Gasperi room, located on the 2nd floor.

At the venue
Registration desk & access to the building
The welcome & registration desk is located at the entrance area of the Charlemagne building and it will be operational from 08:00am until 05:00pm the day of the event. Please note that all participants will have to pass through security check before entering the rooms. Please take this into account and arrive in advance onsite (at least 30 min).

On the second floor, next to the Gasperi room there is an unattended cloakroom available. We therefore strongly advise you to leave your luggage at the hotel.

There is a Wi-Fi Internet connection for all participants at the venue. Please ask the staff onsite for the password.

Getting to the venue
Participants must make their own way from the airport to the event venue Organisers will not reimburse any transportation costs for your stay in Brussels. Therefore, we strongly advise you to use public transportation.

To reach the venue from the metro/train station:

The airport train station is located below the arrivals hall (basement level-1). Up to 2 trains per hour connect the airport to Schuman train station. The train ticket costs approximately € 8.80 for one way and the trip takes 15 min.

The bus station is located on level 0 - one floor down from the arrivals hall - and can be easily reached by using the escalators or elevators. The airport line is a 30-minute express service between Brussels Airport and the European quarter (buses nr. 12 and 21 to Schuman stop). Price per ticket: between 4,5€ and 6€.

Taxis with a taximeter are permanently available in front of the arrivals hall. The fare from the airport to the city centre of Brussels is normally around €45 depending on traffic.

Please take either metro line n.2 direction Simonis (Elisabeth) or n. 6 direction Simonis (Elisabeth) and get off at the stop Arts-Lois/Kunst-Wet.
Then take either metro line n.1, direction Stockel or line n.5 direction Hermann-Debroux and get off at the stop Schuman.

Taxis are available in front of the station and the approximate cost to get to the Charlemagne building is around €10-15, depending on the traffic.
