Since 1988, Anne Bertrand is a
hospital graduate nurse from the Armand Weber School in Verviers. In 1992,
she was graduated from the Catholic University of Louvain in hospital and
medico-social sciences. In 2017, she also obtained a certificate of teaching
skills at the Saint-Laurent Institute in Liège.
She worked as a nurse at the
Yellow and White Cross home care of Malmedy and at Saint-Luc University Clinics
in Brussels. She also worked at CHC (Clinique Notre Dame in Waremme and Clinique
Saint-Joseph in Liège). She was a Head Nurse from 1995 until 2012 in CHC
Clinique Saint-Joseph in Liège. Her main professional experience concerns
surgery.
She has been employed as a nurse in
2013 by the Public Hospital CHR Citadelle in Liège. Currently, she is a study
coordinator in nephrology-dialysis and gastroenterology within the clinical
research team since October 2016. She also became an IBD nurse since February
2018.

Thomas Billiet (born in Leuven
on 29th of april 1984) obtained his medical degree in 2009 at the KU Leuven
University. He continued his training in internal medicine and gastroenterology
& hepatology at the University Hospitals of Leuven, which he completed in
2018. He is currently doing a fellowship in advanced endoscopy at the
University Hospitals of Leuven.
During his specialty training,
he completed a doctoral thesis in the IBD Leuven group under the supervision of
professor Séverine Vermeire. He investigated prediction of response to anti-TNF
agents in patients with inflammatory bowel disease and wrote several original
research papers in high impact journals.
Thomas Billiet lives in Bruges,
is married, and has three daughters.

Patricia Geens, graduated in 1989 at the
Sint-Elisabeth Institute for Nursing in Leuven, Belgium. After nursing school she
got a university degree in Hospital Sciences in 1993. For many years she worked
at the Imelda hospital in Bonheiden mainly as a nurse on the intensive care
unit and from 2003 until 2013 as an IBD studycoordinator. In 2013 she started
working as IBD nurse. In august 2016 she joined the Leuven IBD team as second
IBD nurse/consulent.
She is long time member of ECCO and
N-ECCO where she was responsible in organizing the
N-ECCO school for several years.
She was also one of the pioneers of BINA (Belgian IBD
Nurses Association) in 2011. BINA merged with the IBD study coordinators into
BINAstoria, where she has a liaison function with the pharma industry.
In August 2018 she became IBD nurse specialist at UZ Leuven.

I started in 2008 as a parttime study nurse gastro-enterology (
IBD, oncology and hepato ) and parttime as a nurse in the one day care in AZ
Groeninge. Before I was working 11 years as nurse and head nurse in a home for
elderly.
Since the start I had a big interest in IBD. 4 years ago I started then
full time as studynurse IBD and IBD nurse.

Illegems has worked as a clinical psychologist for more than ten years. She is
a behavioural therapist at the Centre for Behavioural Therapy of Fatigue and
Functional Symptoms at the University Hospital of Antwerp (UZA). Psychosomatic
medicine focuses on the mutual relationships between body and mind. Jela is
fascinated by this field because it aims to bridge the gap between the human
body and psyche, which are inextricably linked. She works within a biological,
psychological and social framework according to the principles of cognitive
behavioural therapy. At the centre, she treats persons with psychosomatic
syndromes (such as chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia) and offers
guidance to patients with chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), functional
gastrological symptoms and pelvic problems.

Lieven Pouillon graduated as a Medical Doctor in 2011 at the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), and finished his training as a Gastroenterologist in 2017, at the University Hospital Leuven (Belgium). His Master’s
thesis (promotor: Prof. Dr. S. Vermeire) investigated the long-term outcome of the Trough Concentration Adapted Infliximab Treatment (TAXIT) trial. After finishing his internship, he fullfilled a 1-year fellowship at
the IBD department of Prof. Dr. L. Peyrin-Biroulet in Nancy (France), where he participated both in clinical practice and in clinical research. Since August 2018, he started working as a full time staff member at the Department of Gastroenterology in Imeldaziekenhuis Bonheiden (Belgium), more specifically at the IBD Clinic and the GI Clinical Research Centre, one of the most dynamic and actively recruiting IBD research centres of Europe. So far, he has published > 25 peer-reviewed articles, of which > 15 as a first author.

MD, was trained in
Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at the University of Leuven (Belgium),
where he was one of the first fellows of Prof.Paul Rutgeerts, and additionally in
ERCP at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam (Prof.Guido Tytgat and
Prof.Kees Huibregtse).
He is a consultant gastroenterologist at the
Sint-Lucas General Hospital in Brugge (Bruges, Belgium) since 1986, where he is
now Head of the Department of Gastroentero-hepatology and chairman of the
Internal Medicine group. His major interests in gastroenterology are
Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and interventional endoscopy.
Since 2003 he is an Associated Professor at the
Medical Faculty of the University in Leuven, where he is involved in clinical
teaching of undergraduate students and fellows in training for gastroenterology.
He is Past-President of the Flemish Association
for Gastroenterology and member of several national and international
gastroenterological associations.
One of his hobbies is the study of History,
