Interreg Annual Meeting 2019

The Interreg Annual Meeting 2019 will take place from 22 to 23 May in Bucharest and is organized by the European Commission, Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy together with the Romanian EU Council Presidency.

In accordance with Article 51 of Regulation (EU) No 1303/2013, the meeting is one of the annual opportunities to review programme implementation. It is the biggest event on the interreg calendar bringing together Managing Authorities and Joint Secretariats of all Interreg Programmes to discuss challenges and opportunities for cooperation with the European Commission.

The meeting will start in the morning of 22 May 2019 with a plenary session on the future programming period 2021-2027, followed by three parallel workshops on cross-border, territorial dimension in Interreg and external borders cooperation. The afternoon is scheduled for a project visit of your choice.

With the European Parliament elections starting on the 23 May 2019, the morning will begin with a keynote speech on the challenges of the EU. Furthermore, special attention will be given to this year’s exercise regarding the performance review and an interactive plenary session on communication and capitalisation.

We are looking forward to the active participation of all Programme authorities. Each Interreg programme can send up to 4 participants.
