Achieving Chartered Status with the CIOB is worth celebrating. The Graduation Ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate your tremendous achievement at gaining this internationally recognised accreditation. Chartered Membership sets you apart as a true professional in your field and will enhance your career, help you win contracts, boost the professionalism of your organisation and raise standards of construction management around the world.

At the Graduation Ceremony in Belfast, we welcome you to invite your family and friends to see you being given your certificate wearing your gown.  It is a unique photo opportunity and a day to celebrate your hard earned success with your loved ones and peers.  The Graduation Ceremony is followed by a glass of mulled wine and mince pies. Children's refreshments will be available.

For Graduation lunches, Ten Square Hotel, located at the back of the Belfast City Hall are working with the CIOB Belfast Hub to offer Graduates and families Graduation lunch if required.  Bookings can be made directly with the hotel 028 9024 1001. Venue 

The Graduation Ceremony will be held in the famous Banqueting Room in the Belfast City Hall.  

The Reception Room will be set up for Robing and Photography. Both rooms are located at the top of the grand staircase beside the stunning Rotunda.

 

On the day of the Graduation the Belfast Christmas Market will be running. Attendees will be asked to access the City Hall via Donegall South entrance.

Gown Hire

All CIOB Members and Fellows receiving recognition are required to wear a CIOB gown, which can be hired from the robe makers Ede & Ravenscroft.

The cost is £39 per gown.  All gowns will be delivered to the venue, ready for you to pick up on the day and needs to be ordered at least 10 days before the ceremony.  Once you book your gown at the above link you do not need to do anything else in relation to your gown.

Dress Code 

Business dress i.e. suits, trousers, jackets, shirts, skirts and dresses, while not formal, are appropriate for a business environment.

Photographs

A photographer will be present to take a group photograph of the conferees and we will supply this image to you electronically after the event.  If you wish to make individual arrangements with the photographer for family photos, you are very welcome to do so.  You are of course also welcome to take your own photos at the event too.

Graduate Biography

We request that each conferee supply us with a short biography i.e. a brief outline of your career to date, any notable/outstanding details.  This will be used as part of the ceremony.  The maximum number of words for you biography is 120.

Certificates

On the day, conferees will be presented with a mock certificate for photographic purposes only – this is not your original CIOB certificate which marks your status of Member or Fellow – if you have not received your original CIOB certificate, please let us know.
