The Baltic and European grid synchronisation – a regional innovation opportunity

The planned synchronization of the Baltic States energy grids with the European grid in 2025 will mark a new era and give the Baltic States access to a larger and more diverse electricity market, increasing opportunities for cross-border electricity trading and open up a new market that will promote innovation, new services and technologies.

The conference will bring together stakeholders from the Baltic States and the UK, and share insights on new and emerging opportunities in implementing synchronisation and designing new services. The discussions will focus on innovation, new markets, opportunities, and include expert debates from the Baltics and the UK.

The grid synchronisation will also align the Baltics closer with energy policies and standards, promoting regional cooperation and sustainability. While this will require significant infrastructure investments and regulatory changes to ensure a smooth transition, it will ensure long-term success and stability.

The event is organized by the British Embassy Riga, Latvian TSO operator AST, in collaboration with CleanTech for Baltics.
