DBT eBrochure: Future Mobility Trade Mission to Türkiye 2025

Istanbul, Türkiye
UK Company Profiles: 5 - 7 March 2025

Foreword

Located in the centre of the United Kingdom, the Midlands is both the heartbeat and the engine-room of the nation's economy. The region is a hub for the automotive sector in the UK with 40% of UK car exports developed in the region. Nine volume car manufacturers, seven commercial vehicle manufacturers, three off-highway manufacturers, five motorcycle manufacturers and 16 of the world’s top 20 automotive suppliers are based in Midlands.

Aston Martin, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover and Toyota are all driving the production of electric vehicles and battery technologies as part of the acceleration towards Net Zero transport. The universities and firms of the Midlands are at the cutting edge of the design, development and deployment of battery propulsion, and connected and autonomous systems in vehicles. There are major automotive test and development campuses at MIRA Technology Park, the University of Warwick National Automotive Innovation Campus and in the Gaydon Product Creation Centre.

Based on the success of previous years, we have opened the 2025 mission to include the entire UK automotive ecosystem, in partnership with the leading sector organisation, The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). We are bringing to Türkiye a true reflection of the UK's diverse capability which includes well-established local companies who specialise in the following: deep tech autonomous driving, engineering consultancy to refine future powertrains, lightweight precision castings, test and validation, prototyping and engineering services, lightweight fire safety systems, battery integration for electric, hybrid and fuel cell technologies, power management systems and hydrogen powertrain solutions.

This mission will help drive new partnerships between automotive, future mobility supply chain and technology-rich companies in Türkiye and the UK. Opportunities provided by the mission include finding new partners for joint research and development projects and accessing the Turkish market through technology partnering for a shared future.

Following the seminar session, there will be B2B meetings where participants from the UK and Türkiye will have the opportunity to engage with each other.

Advanced Electric Machines

Richard Lidstone-Scott - Business Development Consultant

Visit: www.advancedelectricmachines.com
Email: richard.lidstone-scott@weareaem.com
Tel: +44 (0)7860 645931

Company Profile:

Advanced Electric Machines (AEM) designs and manufactures electric motor technologies with next-generation performance, efficiency, and sustainability.

AEM motors eliminate the need for rare earth materials, reducing supply chain volatility and product cost. By removing permanent magnets, our motors have no risk of demagnetisation, making them safer and reducing the thermal management complexity. No magnets means AEM motors can also freewheel, offering unique efficiency gains and allowing the vehicle to coast when required, all whilst delivering a lower environmental footprint than other motor technologies.

Based in the UK, AEM has a range of powertrain solutions to meet the demands of our global customers. The HDRM motor series and SSRD motor means AEM can support a variety of applications, including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, off-highway vehicles, and many more. AEM is looking to expand its global footprint following a successful Series A fundraise in 2023.

Objectives of joining this visit:
