Dear Friends,
The Friends of Asia Pacific WAGGGS (FAPW) Working Group is delighted to welcome you to the 7th Friends of Asia Pacific WAGGGS (FAPW) Regional Gathering in New Taipei City, Taiwan!
The Working Group together with Friends Taiwan and Girl Scouts of Taiwan have put together an exciting three-day programme to showcase Taiwan. The programme will include experiencing local culture through sightseeing and pineapple pastry making, a Sri Lankan experience, an afternoon with local Girl Scouts and ending with a grand celebration to celebrate the 20 years’ journey of FAPW.
This is also a landmark event as we join the 13th Asia Pacific Regional Conference to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Asia Pacific Region. It will be an exciting occasion for FAPW members and Conference delegates to come together to honour our past and present leaders, to applaud the successes of the region and create a vision for the future. You have the option to extend your stay to join the 50th Anniversary Dinner of the Asia Pacific Regional Conference.
I would like to extend my thanks to Friends Sri Lanka. We are sad that we are unable to be in Colombo as planned due to unforeseen circumstances. Please join me in expressing our appreciation to Friends Sri Lanka and The Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association for the preparation work done to host the gathering.
Special thanks to Girl Scouts of Taiwan for hosting the Gathering with only three months to prepare. We would also like to take opportunity to thank the New Taipei City government for their tremendous support in making this event possible, and Caesar Park Hotel Banqiao for the huge discounts given to our event to enable us to honour the original participation fees. Our thanks also to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and MEET Taiwan for their strong support to the Gathering.
This booking pack offers you information you need for the registration process, fees and some practical Gathering arrangements. Please note a change to the booking format. There will be a Gathering fee paid to Girl Scouts of Taiwan (for gathering sessions only) and a Hotel fee paid to the Caesar Park Hotel Banqiao (for accommodation only).

Gathering Highlights
- Come along and join us for the next 7th FAPW Gathering together with the 13th Asia Pacific Regional Conference, an opportunity to be part of the discussions about the future of your Region and WAGGGS.
- The FAPW Gathering is a place for networking and be inspired by the amazing work being done in our region.
- Join us to learn about our past, present and future planned activities for the Asia Pacific Region. You will have the chance to learn about Girl Scouting in Taiwan, remember the past of our region and have the chance to say what you would like to see in the future for our region. The Girl Scouts of Taiwan will show us their land and culture with music, dance and food, while Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association will add a touch of Sri Lankan flavour as a co-host.
- The International Night and Regional Market will provide a unique international experience and a great opportunity to find souvenirs from all parts of the Region. This event allows Member Organisations to raise funds to cover their membership fee costs, or to contribute to the Regional Fund.
