Meet the Delegates from the UK's Midlands region

Foreword:

Located in the centre of the United Kingdom, the Midlands is both the heartbeat and the engine-room of the nation's economy. The region hosts one of the most important Life Sciences ecosystems in the UK with more than 1300 life science companies.

The Midlands has a diverse and growing MedTech sector backed by world-leading research institutions and large teaching hospitals. It is the region of choice for a mixture of start-ups, scale ups and established businesses with a first-class university ecosystem to support companies and importantly it is also one of the country’s first 5G testbeds, enabling 5G technology testing for health applications.

The Midlands has a rich industry network, providing support, guidance and connections to help companies grow. It is home to two of the UK Life Science Opportunity Zones – Birmingham Health Innovation Campus and Charnwood Campus. The Arab Health Technologies Innovation Facility is a pioneering research and development centre specialising in the acceleration of new healthcare products and services, ranging from bench to bedside. Spanning two sites in Nottingham, the MTIF is strengthening ties between academia and industry to provide sector-leading expertise, cutting-edge equipment and state-of-the-art facilities driving forward productivity, increasing competitiveness, developing new products, and streamlining resources and knowledge exchange.

Birmingham is also home to the West Midlands Innovation Accelerator in Health Technologies, a government funded programme to support the development of diagnostics and devices and deliver them to the patient and the marketplace by creating viable businesses. To integrate this academic and clinical expertise in health data, digital health, devices and diagnostics, the Birmingham Health Innovation Campus (BHIC) has been developed. BHIC will enhance the health ecosystem and be a centre for precision medicine, innovative clinical trials, diagnostic and device development, and home to research driven life science companies, all underpinned by unrivalled access to health data and the power to harness this for the benefit of patients worldwide.

Data-driven health innovation will improve early intervention and enable the creation of tailored therapies. Through Birmingham Health Partners (BHP), the University of Birmingham, University of Aston and the NHS will harness world-leading academic and clinical strengths in data, digital, diagnostics, and devices. These strengths bring together the region’s commercial power to develop research and accelerate market access, taking innovative patient-centred healthcare solutions from early development to real-life application, driven by access to large, unique and usable healthcare data. BHP serves a stable and diverse population of 6m people; supported by one of only 4 UK Secure Data Environments (SDE), this provides a unique opportunity to explore patient data in a controlled environment for analysis and research purposes.

The Midlands delegation comprises of East and West Midlands companies. For more information contact dbtmidlands@businessandtrade.gov.uk.

"We have brought a delegation of companies from the Midlands to Arab Health. They offer innovative healthcare products and solutions and would like to build ties with decision makers, innovators and distributors. You will be able to meet these healthcare and Arab Health suppliers at the Department for Business and Trade stand in Hall 2 Stand G19 stand. We look forward to showcasing the region’s strengths in the life science and medtech sectors at the world’s largest event in the Arab Health sector."

ADHD 360

Phil Anderton - Managing Director

Visit: www.adhd-360.com
Email: phil@adhd-360.com
Tel: (+44) 07710 919868

Company Profile:

Across the world, poor mental health creates embarrassment and a desire to hide it away. Neurodiverse conditions including ADHD are easy to hide and explain as just bad behaviour. These factors have enabled health services to argue low priority investment and clinicians to select other specialist areas for developing their practice.

The result is an ever-growing backlog of untreated neurodiverse conditions throughout the population. Patients and families who are dealing with the negative behaviours are uncomfortable seeking help and when they do, they find long waiting times for consultations and assessments.

ADHD 360 took a combination of telemedicine in the form of video conferencing with high levels of privacy for the patient and family, put it together with clinicians focused solely on ADHD, and developed a patient journey through assessment, diagnosis and treatment that is rapid to access, effective and safe (and inspected by the rigorous UK Care Quality Commission).

Objectives of attending Arab Health 2024:

• Articulate with greater clarify their overall expansion plans into the GCC
• Be able to state their expansion priorities throughout the region, listing target geographies for immediate focus
• Build a development and delivery plan capable of securing a presence in the region

Hoping to connect with: For ADHD to widen the understanding of their clinical model throughout the region and to build on the traction and understanding gleaned from previous visits.
