Trade Mission to Arab Health:
Delegate Information
Dubai, UAE: 28 January - 2 February 2024
The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is pleased to announce that we will be taking a delegation of companies from the UK to Arab Health in Dubai, UAE.
Please find below more information on this visit and an application form to complete, should you want to participate. Please note that places are limited and your place is not confirmed until you have received an email confirmation from us.

Attendance and Visitor Passes
Arab Health is a paperless ticket event.
Visitor passes were free prior to the 4th January 2024.
If you have yet to register for your pass, there is now a fee of 100 AED to purchase your tickets until the 28th January. The price increases to 200 AED from the 29th January 2024.
We advise you to register in advance to avoid queues.
Your visitor pass is valid for 4 days.

DBT UK regions will be providing delegates with UK Government lanyards with business card holders. These will be distributed to those of you who are attending the Welcome Dinner on Sunday 28 January or can be collected from the DBT stand in Hall 2 stand G19 during the week.
Whilst there are no mandatory events or receptions you must attend, we do ask that you either arrange to have a chat with your regional adviser on stand to see how things are going and if DBT can help. At the end of the visit, a link to complete a Trade Mission feedback survey. It takes less than 5 minutes to complete and helps DBT to review what worked well, things that can be improved as well as feedback from delegates on future market visits and/or markets of interest.

DBT and Healthcare UK Stands
Hall 2.G19: The UK Pavilion
This stand is where the DBT UK regions – the Midlands, Northern PowerHouse and Southern region delegates will have 121 meetings with overseas commercial officers and where meeting tables can be pre booked.
Book a meeting table on the stand
There are tables available on the stand available to use for meetings. The tables are required to be booked. Slots of 30 minutes are available from 10am – 6pm Monday to Wednesday and 10am – 5pm Thursday.Tables can be pre-booked until Friday 26 January at 12 noon when bookings will be suspended and reopened in market on Monday 29 January at 10am. Please use Whatsapp to book meeting tables.

Literature, Products and Luggage
There is no facility to display literature, products, and store luggage on the stand.
Meeting with commercial officers and DBT organised seminars
To request meetings with DBT overseas offices attending, you must be registered on Swapcard.
You should receive a link to access your Swapcard account within 24hours; if you do not receive log in details please email DBTHealthcare at DBThealthcare@brayleinoevents.com.
All commercial officers and registrations for DBT seminars can only be completed through Swapcard.
In market activities

A buffet meal with soft drinks will be provided and the approx. finish time will be around 21h00.

Tuesday 31 January – British Embassy Reception 19h00 - 21h00
The companies who have been selected to attend will have already received an invite from DIT UAE Events DBT team.
Please ensure you have RSVP’d to if you would like to attend. It is important when RSVP’ing you indicate the exact name on your photographic ID.
Only individuals on the guest list will be permitted entry to the Embassy.
- Companies will be responsible for making their own way to the Embassy
- Security measures will be in place
- Large bags and holdalls are not permitted
- Photographic ID will be required to be shown

Healthcare World
Healthcare World have shared details of their organised activities and have extended this invite to the DBT delegation.
HW have advised places are filling up fast so if it is of interest register asap.
They have organised sessions on Monday 29th January in the Smart Hospital Zone which are:-

- Clinical Benchmarking and Data - Monday 1.30pm -2.30pm
- The Healthcare Data Continuum from Population to Precision 3pm-4pm
- The NHS of the Future 4.30pm-5.30pm
The Smart Hospital zone can be accessed by both exhibitors and visitors.
UK activity on the ABHI stand
Organised by the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI), the ABHI stand (Hall 2 (H2.E30) will be hosting simulations and presentations that will run for the full four days at the show.

Communication in market
A Whatsapp group will be set up over the few days; reminders, updates and updates to the schedule will communicated using Whatsapp. If you have selected not to be included within the group, your reginal lead will contact you by Whatsapp individually or by text message.
Note from Friday 26 January to Friday 2 February regional leads will not be able to access their emails.
The preferred communication is via the Whatsapp group or personal message or mobile number.
Final Preparations
- Follow latest FCDO travel advice for UAE
- Ensure mobile phone has roaming and consider adding a data bundle & bringing battery power charger.
- Notify bank & credit card company you are travelling.
- Ensure you have travel insurance in place for Dubai and to covers activities you plan to do whilst in Dubai.
- Check passport validity and entry requirements for the UAE.
- Have a copy of your passport details either paper or take a photograph in the event your passport is lost or stolen.
- If you take prescription medication, please refer to the FCDO website of requirements to take medication into the UAE.
- If you are planning to take a taxi from the airport in the UAE, there is a dedicated taxi rank. In the arrivals hall you may be offered a taxi, these taxis may not be licensed. All taxis are fitted with metres and the driver will have ID. There are a number of taxi apps available such as careem and Uber taxis can also be booked.
