Getting to the venue
Participants must make their own way to the event venue. Organisers will not reimburse any transportation costs for your stay in Mérida.

The closest airport is in Badajoz. The taxi service is the only means of public transport to or from the airport, situated 50 kilometers from the city of Mérida. The approximate fare from the airport to Mérida is 50 euros. There is also a supplement of 0.50 euros per item in the luggage compartment. Users are advised to request a receipt for any taxi trip.


The RENFE station in Mérida is located on Calle Cardero, about ten minutes walking from the meeting venue. There are four trains to and from Cáceres (trip time: 1 hr.), five trains to and from Madrid (4.5-6 hours, 18.45-27 Euros one-way), one to and from Seville (3 hr.), and seven to and from Badajoz (1 hr.)

The bus station is on Avenida de la Libertad near the train station. There are fewer buses to Madrid, but connections to Seville (6-8 buses per day) are much better. You can book from or

The N-V superhighway passes through Merida from Madrid or Lisbon. From Madrid, you can make the 340km journey by car in about three hours, while from Sevilla it takes around two hours by car to make the 192km journey.
