Why the UK?
Clean growth sits at the heart of the UK’s industrial strategy.
In 2019, the UK government became the first major economy to adopt a legally binding obligation to reach net zero greenhouse gas by 2050. The government is delivering on the Ten point plan for a green industrial revolution that followed that commitment.
In 2022, the government also published an Energy security strategy with new, bold commitments to supercharge clean energy and accelerate deployment. The aim is for 95% of Great Britain's electricity to be low carbon by 2030.
