ICAS 11 Final Delegate Information

ICAS 11 is now only a few days away. To assist you with your final planning we are pleased to provide you with the following information for your reference.

Arrival Information Schiphol Airport 
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport has a good train connection to Leiden Central Station (every 15 minutes). After your arrival at the Airport, walk towards the central hall of the terminal (the so-called ‘Schiphol Plaza’). Train tickets for travel within the Netherlands can be purchased at the yellow ticket machines located in Schiphol Plaza, near the entrance to the railway platforms or at the ticket counters.
 
The journey to Leiden Central Station takes 15-20 minutes. A single ticket costs about €6. Should you wish to view the train schedules beforehand, please visit the 
website of the Dutch train service.

If you would like to take a taxi, please make sure to take a taxi from a registered company found at the taxi rank outside and avoid unsolicited rides from taxi touts. Please visit the official
Schiphol website for taxis.

Pre-Registration – Monday 15 July, 15.00 – 18.00 
Registration and badge pick up on 15 July will be from 15.00 to 18.00 in the Kamerlingh Onnes at Steenschuur 25. We highly recommend those delegates arriving in the Netherlands prior to Tuesday 16 July to complete their registration on Monday 15 July.
 
Participants attending the 11th Engaging With Vietnam conference can collect their badge at the Oude Sterrewacht (Old Observatory),
Sterrenwachtlaan 11, between 8.00 – 18.00. All other days EWV badges need to be collected at either the Kamerlingh Onnes or Lipsius.

ICAS 11 Update - June 2019

Programme

The ICAS 11 programme is available now! Check out the large variety of panels and roundtables at our website.

You can also sit down in our film room at Lipsius or at the Trianon Cinema to enjoy a number of interesting documentaries during the ICAS 11 film festival.

The city centre of Leiden will be enveloped in an Asian theme during ICAS 11. Together with Leiden City the ICAS team is working on a ‘Leiden Asia Week’ during which a variety of cultural side events throughout the city centre will be offered. ICAS 11 Update - April 2019

Tentative Programme
The preparation of the ICAS 11 programme are in full swing. A tentative programme will be published on the conference website by mid-May.

Colleagues’ Choice Award – Vote now!
The ICAS Book Prize (IBP) awards ceremony will be held during ICAS 11. More than 400 books have been submitted for the English edition of the ICAS Book Prize. In addition to the jury-selected prizes, the IBP will also present the Colleagues' Choice Award. For this we invite you to vote for your favourite titles in the Humanities category and the Social Sciences category. The online voting system is open now.

ICAS 11 Update - February 2019

The preparations for ICAS 11 are in full swing. We are expecting more than 2000 Asia specialists and representatives of civil society to participate in over 500 panels, roundtables, book presentations, and PhD pitches. There will be an array of other activities in the centre of Leiden ranging from exhibitions and film/documentary screenings, to an Asian Studies Book Fair in which many local and international publishers and institutions will have booths. For more information on reserving a booth or advertising opportunities at ICAS 11, please refer to our website.
