The Northern Powerhouse (NPH) is home to approximately 4,000 Agri-Tech companies across various industries including plant science, animal science and precision agriculture, with significant expertise in agri-tech, food processing, life sciences, advanced manufacturing and bioeconomy. The sector is one of the key industries in the Northern Powerhouse and one we are targeting for support as part of the levelling up agenda.

Over the coming months, the Department for International Trade (DIT) will be hosting a series of events in partnership with our overseas teams to help companies in the sector access international markets and grow their businesses through exporting. These will include opportunities to meet international buyers, learn from market-specific webinars and hear from experts in Agri-Tech. See our current schedule of events below. We will be adding new Northern Powerhouse events as they are confirmed.

Latin America and the Caribbean (LATAC) Agri-Tech Trade Opportunities

We are pleased to be working with DIT in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay to deliver two virtual events which will identify opportunities for Agri-Tech companies in the LATAC region. The two webinars will showcase tangible business and partnership opportunities, develop relationships between Agri-Tech companies from the Northern Powerhouse and overseas stakeholders, and promote knowledge sharing.

The history of Latin America and the Caribbean is deeply intertwined with agriculture. A variety of crops originated in Latin America that have become the cornerstone of food systems and cultures throughout the world. Latin America is the second fastest growing market after the US and the diminishing workforce availability is propelling the use of precision agriculture, with great opportunities for UK businesses.

Join us for this virtual Northern Powerhouse event to discover the scope of opportunities which await your company in LATAC.
