Shane Guidry Chairman of the Board and CEO Harvey Gulf International Marine In 1988, Shane J. Guidry became the third generation of the Guidry family to operate the family business. Mr. Guidry supported and managed all aspects of the business. In 1997, Mr. Guidry became President and CEO of Harvey Gulf International Marine, Inc. As the years progressed, Harvey Gulf transitioned from a full-service towing operator to one specializing in offshore towing, with a focus on towing large jack-up and semi-submersible rigs in the deepwater and ultra-deepwater of the Gulf of Mexico. As part of this specialization, Harvey Gulf divested the company's liquefied petroleum gas division, sold all of its inland towing vessels, and replaced them with larger, more powerful offshore towing vessels. Harvey Gulf also repowered and added equipment to its existing fleet of offshore towing vessels to enable them to perform the specialized service required for deepwater rig towing. With this transition, Harvey Gulf developed a reputation for operating the most powerful towing vessels in the Gulf of Mexico. Harvey Gulf modernized electronics and navigation systems and installed performance and safety equipment, such as Shark Jaws, bow thrusters, and kort nozzles. Harvey Gulf also placed a strong emphasis on Health Safety and Environmental ("HSE") preservation and management. The result has been superior performance and a safety record second to none. Seeing the future need for other types of vessels to support deepwater drilling and production, Harvey Gulf began its ongoing fleet expansion to include Offshore Supply Vessels ("OSV's") in 2003. Harvey Gulf's new-generation OSV's are characterized by large size, high cargo capacities, and sophisticated electronics and navigation systems. They range in size from 175 ft. to 300 ft. in length, and are all, SOLAS and ABS Classed with DP2 certification. More recently, Harvey Gulf has further expanded its OSV fleet to include vessels that, in addition to traditional offshore supply services, can support deepwater rig mooring operations with Reel Spooling Units, as well as surveying activities, offshore and subsea construction, pipeline inspection and repair and dive support services. On August 21, 2008, Mr. Guidry, along with The Jordan Company, L.P., a New York based private equity firm, acquired Harvey Gulf from the Guidry family. Mr. Guidry remains Chief Executive Officer. Through the sale, Harvey Gulf looks to combine the management team and specialized services and equipment developed over the past ten years with a partner dedicated to expanding the fleet and services to meet the evolving needs of its customers, while maintaining the same level of performance and safety standards they rely on. Today, Harvey Gulf's fleet represents a state of the art collection of offshore support vessels ranging from 175ft to 340ft encompassing supply vessels, fast supply vessels and construction vessels powered by the latest technology available with industry leading cargo handling capabilities. Harvey Gulf's focus on no harm to the environment is further exemplified by the 6 dual fueled LNG powered offshore supply vessels under construction as well as the, first of its kind, LNG fueling facility in Port Fourchon, LA. | |
