Celebrate St David’s Day at the British Embassy Copenhagen - Fostering ties between Denmark and Wales

His Majesty’s Ambassador to Denmark, Joëlle Jenny, joins the Department for Business and Trade in warmly inviting you to an evening reception to celebrate St David’s Day, the Welsh national day. This event is being hosted in conjunction with the Welsh Government.

Home to just over 3 million of the United Kingdom’s 67 million residents, Wales represents an agile market with a keen focus on innovation in sectors such as renewable energy, life sciences, cyber security and fintech.

The devolved Welsh Government has a strong international outlook and is an active partner committed to supporting international companies to invest in Wales.

In 2023, 9 in 10 investment cases into Wales received direct assistance from the Welsh Government. The UK Government and Welsh Government work together to support investors.

As Wales angles itself to unlock the opportunities of the new Anglesey and Celtic freeports, it is an exciting time to explore collaboration between Denmark and Wales on shared priorities, such as the green transition and maritime connectivity.

Join us for this St David’s Day reception to toast existing cultural and business exchange between Denmark and Wales and to foster new relationships between the two countries.

What to expect:

  • A chance to come together to mark St David’s Day at the British Embassy Copenhagen
  • Opening words from His Majesty’s Ambassador to Denmark, Joëlle Jenny, and Minister Nia Griffith of the UK Government Wales Office
  • Discussion of business and investment opportunities in Wales with representatives of the Welsh Government and the Department for Business and Trade
  • Networking with peers based in Denmark with connections to Wales or who are interesting in exploring opportunities and building partnerships in the country.

This reception is open to guests with Welsh heritage, those who have connections to Wales – past or present – or who have an interest in exploring the opportunities the country has to offer.

Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus! We look forward to welcoming you to the Embassy on 3 March.
