Expression of Interest Best of British Afternoon Tea - Israeli opportunity - May 2023

Note, deadline for registrations is 17.00 on the 16th January 2022 We are delighted to let you know that we have secured GREAT funding to host a Best of British Afternoon Tea to focus on vegan options, healthy alternatives etc. We are aiming for the event to be held in the Ambassador’s Residence in the garden on hopefully Thursday 4th May 2023 and to recreate an English countryside tea with an Israeli twist! We hope to showcase around 30 UK products around the garden and incorporate some of them into the menu for the afternoon tea (around 5/6 mini dishes). Our audience will be around 100 to 120 key buyers in the Israeli market – supermarkets, deli shops, chefs with restaurants in London. Basically, anyone in our network who is making purchasing decisions about food and drink. We hope to get a well-known Israeli chef to cater the event so create press and social media interest. We can then sit with the chef and design it once brands have been shortlisted. Funding covers the shipping/air freight/customs clearance/onward delivery in Israel of all the products. The producer will just be required to send their products to a UK consolidation point. In return, we ask that they supply enough products to feed/samples for 120 people and samples to put into bags to go home. We hope nothing goes wrong but we will clarify that the Embassy cannot be held responsible for any damage/lack of delivery of the goods. Companies and of course DIT advisors are welcome to attend the event to present their food and drink, but we have no budget for travel We will use our best endeavours to display the food nicely and will hire a Professional to dress the event. If companies want to print off marketing material, banners etc. at their own cost we will provide details of a commercial provider in Israel near to the Residence who can print off the material and deliver to the Embassy.
