Thank you for applying to volunteer on a Diabetes UK Type 1 Family Weekender.

This application will take about 20 minutes to complete. Before you start your application please read:

And the description of the role you'd like to apply for.

You'll need to have the following information to hand to complete your application:

The names and contact details of two referees, who can provide you with a reference. These are required to comply with our Safeguarding Policy.
The name and contact details of an emergency contact who we can contact in the unlikely event an emergency arose on an event. Please note that this person should not be attending an event with you.
If you have a current criminal record check and are part of the update service, please have your update number ready.

All applicants must be aged 18 and over to be eligible to volunteer on a Type 1 event.

All emails about you volunteering at a Type 1 Event will be from type1 events@diabetes.org.uk. Please add this email to your safe contact list to avoid any emails going to your junk/spam box.

After you've completed your application:

You'll receive an acknowledgement email from the Type 1 Events team. If you don't, please get in touch and let us know.
The Type 1 Events team will review your application and confirm the date of your preferred recruitment session
Once you've attended your recruitment session, we'll get back to you within a week
And then start to process your criminal record check and references

Our next events are:

1. A Type 1 Summer Camp in North Yorkshire, 24-28 July 2023. (The only volunteering places left on this camp are healthcare professional places.)

2. A Type 1 Summer Camp in Dorset, 21-25 August 2023. (The only volunteering places left on this camp are healthcare professional places.)

3. A Type 1 Family Weekender in Newport, 3-5 November 2023.
