Kazakh Geological Survey

KAZ Minerals and KAZ Minerals Bozshakol

KAZ Minerals operates the Aktogay and Bozshakol open pit copper mines in the East Region and Pavlodar region of Kazakhstan, three underground mines and associated concentrators in the East Region of Kazakhstan. KAZ Minerals is one of the largest copper producers in Kazakhstan and the CIS region. The Company was originally listed in London as Kazakhmys PLC in October 2005. The Group undertook a number of divestments and completed a restructuring in 2014, which transformed it into a high growth copper company focused on large scale, low-cost open pit mining in the CIS region.

JSC Ai-Karaaul

JSC Ai-Karaaul is a rapidly developing public Kazakhstan mining company, registered at KASE in 2014. The main activity of the Company is to conduct operations in the field of subsoil use, i.e., exploration and mining of copper at the Aysko-Karaaul copper ore area (225.25 sq.km.) in the Abay region. According to the results of the geological exploration, the “Ai” deposit contains numerous ore occurrences of oxidized and sulphide copper ores, as well as native copper. It is planned to build a hydrometallurgical plant there with a capacity of 5,000 tons of cathode copper annually.

Kundybai Rare Earth Metals Deposit 

JSC Kundybai Mining owns the 1997 Exploration Contract (Licence) for the Kundybai Deposit. The Contract is valid till the end of 2020 with possible extension. The climate of the region is continental. The area of the deposit is 28.8 sq. km. Additionally, JSC Kundybai is manages geological exploration in Biryuk deposit (gold).

Ken Too Design and Research Centre

The Ken-Too Design and Research Centre has been operating since 1992 and has extensive experience in the design of mining enterprises, including enriching facilities and tailing dumps, and environmental impact assessment beneficiation complexes and tailings ponds.    

 It has extensive experience in working with major mining companies in the country and has carried out technical projects of some of the largest mineral deposits of national importance. Projects have also been completed for process, hydraulic and tailings storage facilities and associated construction infrastructure of mining enterprises. 

The Design and Research Centre has a licence for the right to design mining enterprises including mineral processing complexes and tailings dumps. All work is carried out under conditions of strict confidentiality. 

Current staff of 30-40 includes geologists with high experience in the search and exploration in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, mining project engineers, designing engineers of technological, hydraulic works and tailing dumps; economists, estimators, environmental specialists, sspecialists in water supply and water disposal, power engineers, civil engineers, highway engineers.

Geology Department, Kyrgyz Technical University 

Kyrgyz Technical University (KSTU) is a public non-profit university. It is located in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.  

Department of "Geology of minerals" as well as in general KSGU named after acad. U. Asanaliev originate from the geological department on the basis of the Faculty of Geography of the Kyrgyz State University, opened in 1951 by the decision of the Government of the Republic to strengthen the geological service with its own highly qualified personnel. 

The first graduation of mining engineers-geologists was made in 1956. In 1957, 41 students graduated, among them the future academician Usengazy Asanaliev, whose name was given to the Kyrgyz Mining and Metallurgical Institute (now the Kyrgyz State University of Geology, Mining and Natural Resources Development).

National Geological Survey 

The overall mission of the National Geology Survey is to provide raw materials for the sustainable production of the mining sector by studying geological formations and structures of the subsoil of Mongolian territory and increasing minerals reserve, to conduct geo-ecological and hydro-geological research in urban and regional areas and compile territorial report and analysis on earthquakes and landslides.

The Geological society of Mongolia

Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine JSC is the flagship of the Uzbek non-ferrous metallurgy. The gold and silver producing in the combine have a quality label of the London gemstone stock exchange that is "Good Supplier".
