Event Information

The Transatlantic Taskforce on Antimicrobial Resistance (TATFAR) will hold an in-person meeting on 14 and 15 November 2023 at the European Convention Center Luxembourg in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg.

Context

TATFAR was established in 2009 to address the urgent threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). TATFAR’s technical experts from Canada, the European Union (EU), Norway, the United Kingdom, and the United States collaborate and share best practices to strengthen domestic and global efforts in four key areas:

1. Appropriate antimicrobial use in human and veterinary medicine

2. Surveillance and prevention of AMR

3. Strategies to improve financial incentives, access, research, and development of antimicrobial drugs, diagnostics, and alternatives

4. Cross-cutting actions to improve awareness and disseminate information from TATFAR

This meeting will bring together TATFAR member representatives as well as other key partners on global AMR. With the increasing importance of AMR globally, this meeting will serve a critical role in assessing TATFAR’s work to date, discussing shared AMR priorities and challenges, and shaping TATFAR’s future.

Additional information on TATFAR is available at https://www.cdc.gov/drugresistance/tatfar/index.html.
