Meeting Venue

Location

The European Convention Center Luxembourg (ECCL) located at 1, Rue du Fort Thüngen - L-1499 Luxembourg is ideally located and easily accessible, whatever your chosen means of transport. ECCL is situated in the heart of the Kirchberg district in the northeast of Luxembourg City, 2.5 km from the city center, the Luxembourg train station, and 7 km from Luxembourg Airport.

Luxembourg City and the Kirchberg district (where the ECCL is located) are linked to the major European cities by an extensive motorway network, regular and fast train routes, and a far-reaching and wide range of international destinations from Luxembourg International Airport.  

 

How to get to the European Convention Center Luxembourg? 

From the airport 

  • Taxi: 20 minutes.
  • Public transport: bus line 16 to Kirchberg, stop Rout Bréck-Pafendall, then Tram 1, Direction Luxexpo to stop Philharmonie-Mudam. 

From the Central Station/Luxembourg city centre 

As of March 2020, Luxembourg's public transport has become completely free of charge!

  • Tram 1 connects Kirchberg to the Central Station (Gare) and Boulevard Royal (city center).
  • Bus lines 1, 16, 18, 120, 125/1 towards Kirchberg, stop Rout Bréck-Pafendall then change to Tram 1, stop Philharmonie-Mudam.  

 

By car

Meeting Registration Desk

Venue: European Convention Center  (Commission/Press Entrance)  

Address: 1, Rue du Fort Thüngen - L-1499 Luxembourg  

Kindly note that the ECCL has different entrances. Please DO NOT use Main Entrance to access the venue. The TATFAR meeting will use the Commission/Press entrance, situated on 1, Rue du Fort Thüngen. For directions how to find it, see the map below. 

 

The meeting registration desk opens one hour before the start of each day, and will remain open until the end of the meeting. Participants are required to show a personal identification document (passport, ID-card, etc.) at the meeting registration desk. Upon showing their identification document, a badge will be handed over. Participants are required to wear the badge to access the meeting room. 

 

Additional information

Access for people with reduced mobility

  • The entrance of the event offers adapted access for people with reduced mobility. 

Cloakroom

  • A cloakroom will be available for your jackets and suitcases. Be informed that no jackets and suitcases will be accepted in the meeting room. 

Security

  • At entrance, you will be required to go through standard security checks, such as scan of personal bags. 

 

Meeting Languages

No interpretation will be provided, and the meeting will be in English only. 

All communications with the TATFAR 2023 Organiser will be in English.

 

Meals

Lunch and drinks/coffee will be provided during the two days of the event. Dinner will be also provided during the evening of the first day.

 

Technical/Other information 

  • The nearest ATM is located at 6 Rue du Fort Niedergruenewald, 2226 Kirchberg Luxembourg. Please see the map here.
  • Please be aware that the EU electrical outlets use 230V; and are normally Type C (refer to pictures below for reference). Please note that adaptors will not be provided.
