The University of Liverpool is proud to host the 40th AUCSO anniversary conference in 2024. Founded in 1881 as the original ‘red brick’ university, the University of Liverpool is one of the UK’s leading research-intensive higher education institutions and a member of the prestigious Russell Group universities.
As someone born and bred in Liverpool, it's important to me that you receive a heartfelt memorable experience during your time in the city not just from the University, but from what the City of Liverpool has to offer.
Liverpool is a multicultural and diverse city, having a unique accent, friendly people, and diverse cuisine, offering a wide range of activities and stunning architecture, famous not just for The Beatles but also our museums, football stadiums, the famous Royal Albert Dock and of course the Liver Building, home of the Liver Birds sitting at the top one looking over the sea and the other looking over the city.
I am proud and excited to be working with the Executive Group in what will be a fantastic and memorable conference. You may want to take the opportunity to extend your stay and enjoy the Liverpool atmosphere with the Grand National race meeting at the Aintree Racecourse on the 11th, 12th and 13th of April.
I look forward to welcoming you all in April 2024.

The Association of University Chief Security Officers, AUCSO, is the primary association for Security Professionals working in Universities, Colleges and Institutions of Tertiary Education across the globe. Current members represent 22 countries! Membership is available by Institution, with each afforded the opportunity to nominate four representatives to the Association.
The Association provides a forum for its members to exchange knowledge, information and best practice relating to security management within the sector. Each year the Association holds a conference, security suppliers exhibition and an AGM for its members. Conferences are hosted by a different member University each year.
AUCSO consults and liaises with government agencies and regulatory bodies on relevant topics and provides training for our members on Resilience (Crisis Management & Business Continuity), Mental Health Response, Counter Terrorism and Tackling Drugs. Members are also able to share best practice, experience, initiatives and local security training within the eleven geographic regions, each of which hold their own local meetings and appoint a representative who sits on the Association Executive Committee.
