Music Grant Support for Exporters (MEGS)
UK Government grant support is available for UK-based music SMEs who want to grow their export business.
Applications for the Music Export Growth Scheme (MEGS), co-funded by the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), opened on 8 November 2023.
MEGS enables UK-based music SMEs, who already have established a strong profile in the UK, to grow their exports through enhancing their ability to deliver high-quality marketing and promotional campaigns normally, but not exclusively, linked to touring.
The recorded music trade body the BPI administers MEGS on behalf of government. Eligibility, criteria and more details on the process are available via the BPI website, here. If you have any queries on the application process or the scheme itself, please contact musicexportscheme@bpi.co.uk
The deadline for MEGS applications is 11:59pm on 4 December 2023.
DBT is also a funding partner to the International Showcase Fund (ISF), owned and administered by PRS Foundation. This scheme is designed for early-stage UK-based music SMEs. The ISF offers grants of up to £5,500 for artists, bands, songwriters and producers who have been invited to perform or create new music at international music industry-facing showcasing festivals, songwriting camps or conferences.
