UK Legal Tech Trade Mission to Australia

UK headquartered lawtech, legaltech and legal innovation companies who have technology solutions for the legal services sector are invited to apply to join a UK Government trade mission to Australia led jointly by the Department for Business and Trade and the GREAT Legal Services Campaign.

 

The mission provides UK companies with an exclusive program of activities and events including networking, pitching sessions and market briefings to connect with key stakeholders and decision makers in Australia's legal and legal tech ecosystem

Australia has a vibrant legal tech ecosystem, with many international and home-grown companies partnering and supplying innovation and technology solutions to Australia's legal sector. The market is receptive to new technology and there are a number of major firms, both local and international, that are seeking innovative solutions.

If you are interested in building out your client base in the Asia-pacific region, then Australia is the best place to start. 

About the Legal Innovation & Tech Fest

The Legal Innovation & Tech Fest hones in on 3 distinct areas of the industry: Innovation & Tech, Client Experience & Marketing, and Skills of the Future. 

The Legal Innovation & Tech Fest is a gateway to two amazing days of content, networking and knowledge-sharing. Bringing together 300+ Legal professionals to celebrate the talent, technology, innovations and ideas that are literally transforming the way law firms and in-house legal teams operate. 

Selected UK companies will be invited to participate in the trade mission to Australia and be provided space to exhibit at the Legal Innovation & Tech Fest, free of charge, in the UK Goverment Zone.

Our Trade Mission allows you to meet and showcase your services and products to key decision makers across Australia, including a range of stakeholders such as business, industry and thought leaders. 

 

Mission programme (draft)

Thursday 9 May

  • Official welcome to the Mission by the Sydney Consul-General
  • Delegate roundtable - share experiences of Australian market knowledge and what they want to achieve from the mission. Invite other UK tech firms to share their experiences and lessons learned
  • Presentation by a law firm on the legal and legaltech landscape in Australia. Legal and regulatory considerations for setting up business in Australia (e.g data regulations, employing staff, covering tax) 

Friday 10 May

  • Briefings on the Australian innovation ecosystem

Saturday 11 May | Free of Engagements

 

Sunday 12 May | Free of Engagements

 

Monday 13 May

  • Day 1 | Legal Tech and Innovation Conference
    • Delegates will be provided space to exhibit in a GREAT area/zone

  • Evening Reception

Tuesday 14 May

  • Day 2 | Legal Tech and Innovation Conference

Wednesday 15 May

  • Breakfast with legal innovation heads of legal firms 
  • Free day for meetings
  • Flight to Melbourne in the evening

Thursday 16 May

  • Meetings in Melbourne with key legal services and lawtech contacts

Application Details

Applications are open to UK headquartered lawtech, legal tech and legal innovation companies who have technology solutions for the legal services sector and have identified go-to-market stategy for Australia. 

Please note: although there is no cost to participate in the mission program and exhibition space is provided to mission participants, all travel expenses including flights and accommodation, will be at your own expense.
