About UK-Southeast Asia Tech Week 

The UK Government is delighted to announce UK-Southeast Asia Tech Week 2025. This is the UK’s flagship annual event on science, innovation and technology in Southeast Asia. UK-Southeast Tech Week 2024 was a resounding success, with 150 bespoke business meetings organised, several of which resulted in commercial partnerships for UK companies. This year’s event will run from Monday 24 March to Friday 28 March 2025 in the Philippines (Manila) and Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City).

We are seeking to recruit 10 UK AI and data companies offering enterprise technology solutions who want to expand their commercial partnerships with the region.

Programme Offer 

The UK Government will support successful applicants to understand the opportunities in Southeast Asia, make new connections and land new clients and investment.

Proposed activities include: 

• Curated one-to-one business matching sessions with potential business partners and customers. 
• Reverse pitching sessions with regional conglomerates and venture capital firms
• In-market briefings on Southeast Asian business environments, incentives and opportunities.
• On-site visits to relevant local organisations and companies  
• High-profile networking events with key business leaders and influential government officials.
• Workshops, roundtables and panel discussions bringing together business, government stakeholders and academia to promote the strengths of the UK’s tech sector.
• Follow up support from the UK embassy network to land commercial partnerships in the region after the event.

The first half of the week’s programme will take place in The Philippines (Manila) and the second half will take place in Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City). 

Focus Sectors 

For this trade mission, the UK Government is recruiting up to 10 best-in-class UK AI and data companies offering enterprise technology solutions. We welcome solutions across a broad range of sectors including (but not limited to), fintech, education, sustainability and healthcare.

This is the third annual Southeast Asia Tech Week. The 2024 programme brought together 10 UK companies and over 500 Southeast Asian counterparts for a full week of activities. UK companies received: 150 one-on-one business meetings, briefings on Southeast Asia, Thailand and Vietnam, site visits to regional technology hubs, lunchtime and evening networking events and much more. UK companies secured several commercial partnerships as a direct result of the mission.

Why Southeast Asia? 

The UK and Southeast Asia are home to two of the world’s most dynamic and innovative digital ecosystems. With Southeast Asia’s markets rapidly growing and maturing, now is the perfect time for UK companies to break into the region. 

• Favourable macroeconomic outlook: ASEAN’s economic growth is projected to be 4.2% this year and 4.4% next year.
• Strong digital economy: ASEAN's digital economy is projected to triple by the end of the decade, growing from approximately US$300 billion to almost US$1 trillion by 2030.   
• Dynamic investment environment: Between 2015 and 2020, VC investment in the region rose by a factor of 2.6 – outperforming both China and India.  
• Thriving tech ecosystems: The region is now home to more than 40 unicorns (start-ups valued at more than US$1 billion). 

The UK Government will fund the core activities. UK companies will be required to pay for their own travel, accommodation and subsistence.
