Following up to our recent Higher Education, TNE Mission to Mexico and Panama, on 11 June Department for Business and Trade will be running a webinar showcasing Panama as an ideal destination for UK TNE efforts including establishing a branch campus.

Panama is one of the most politically stable countries in Latin America. It has one of highest GDP per capita in Latin America and offers regional as well as bilateral opportunities for UK organisations. Its strategic geographical location, dollarised economy, and social, political and economic stability make Panama an excellent base from which to do business in the region.

The Panama Canal makes the country a regional logistic hub. According to the World Economic Forum, Panama ranks 7th in the world for the efficiency of its port infrastructure; 13th in the world for the efficiency of its air transport services and first in Latin America for the sophistication of its financial services (World Economic Forum, 2019).

Panama’s City of Knowledge initiative provides tax exemptions and immigration benefits for affiliated entities. These include companies, academic programs, scientific and R&D institutes, creative industry related companies and international organisations. At present, the City of Knowledge project has 200 affiliated entities, and more than 180 entrepreneurs.

Also there will be a Q & A session afterwards with the opportunity to network and collaborate with link-minded individuals.

Join us on 11 June to discover the opportunities and connections that Panama has to offer by completing a registration form that is available via the link below.
