AI Award

The AI Award celebrates the responsible application of artificial intelligence across business in the UK and France. Companies of all sizes and sectors are encouraged to apply, so long as they have championed the responsible adoption of AI into their business in the UK or France.

Applicants can either be:

  1. a pure AI player that has developed a large language model (LLM) or;
  2. a business that has adopted AI at scale to increase productivity

Technology and innovation play an important role in the Franco-British trading relationship. The UK and France are Europe’s top two tech markets, valued at £24 billion and £12 billion respectively.

    New technologies, including AI, have the potential to revolutionise the way we do business, increase productivity and create jobs on both sides of the Channel. The UK and France are also leading the way on international tech governance. The UK hosted the world’s first ever AI Safety Summit in November 2023 and France will host the AI Action Summit in February 2025. The UK and France continue to work together on the responsible use of AI and its adoption by business and civil society.

    AI encompasses technology with the ability to perform tasks that usually require human intelligence, such as machine learning, natural language processing and computer vision. Artificial intelligence can be applied to all business sectors, including the technology and telecoms sectors, financial & professional services, energy, advanced engineering, agri-food, retail, and manufacturing. We encourage companies from any sector/vertical to apply.

    The judging panel will be looking for a company that has implemented artificial intelligence responsibly into their business or has produced a ground-breaking large language model (LLM) to support other businesses with their AI adoption. Companies must show how the technology has had an impact on the UK-France trade and investment relationship. The technology should have been adopted within the past three years.

    Examples include:

    • Streamlining a process through the adoption of AI
    • Improving customer experience and management through new AI systems
    • Launching a new AI product that has revolutionised a marketplace – a game-changer
    • Conducting excellent R&D that has advanced Franco-British technological capabilities
    • Being early adopters of AI which has solved complex problems faster
