Thailand is Southeast Asia’s second largest economy and home to one of the region’s most dynamic digital ecosystems. Valued at £15.7 billion in 2020 and projected to reach £41.7 billion by 2025, Thailand’s digital economy grew by 51% from 2021-2022. It is powered by over 54.3 million internet users and hosts one of Southeast Asia’s most advanced telecommunication and digital infrastructure networks.

The country’s flagship national policy (‘Thailand 4.0’) seeks to harness technology as a way of moving Thailand out of the “middle-income trap”, investing heavily in ‘S-Curve’ industries such as AI, robotics, and bio-robotics – as well as in Thailand’s special economic zone, the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

Looking at the period 2024 to 2030 Statista Market Insights indicate there will be substantial growth in the size of the AI market in Thailand.

The upcoming ‘UK-THAILAND AI WEEK’ event builds on the success of the first UK-Thailand AI Week held in August 2023 by continuing to promote AI commercial and research collaborations. Through workshops, panel discussions, and one to one business meetings.
