Erika Zapien

 

Erika is the Trade Officer of Retail in Mexico within the Department of Business and Trade. Erika has a bachelor’s degree in international business from Tecnológico de Monterrey at Campus Guadalajara, with a minor in Customs Consultancy and Foreign Trade by ITESM. Since 2019 she has been working in the International Trade field within different sectors such as Retail, Food and Drink, Agri-tech, Creative Industries and Tech.

The Department of Business and Trade has presence in all the three main cities: Mexico city, Monterrey and Guadalajara, Erika is based in Guadalajara where she oversees the British companies of the Retail sector that are interested in exporting their products to Mexico by providing insights to the British companies regarding the different sub-sectors within the Retail industry, connecting with relevant stakeholders and supporting with promotion of the British products/services in the country.

Madelyn Guerrero Lugo

 

Pharmacist Chemist Biologist from La Salle University, specialized in Cosmetic Chemistry by a diplomat at the UNAM, with 10 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs, including/within the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and household cleaning categories.

Nowadays, she is the Regulatory Affairs Manager at the National Chamber of the Cosmetic Products Industry and the National Association of the Personal and Home Care Products Industry AC (CANIPEC), where her main functions are to ensure the attention and coordination of regulatory issues in national and international health matters, to represent the cosmetic and home care products industry focused on technical areas in front of authorities, other business representation bodies and the academy.

 

David Ureña Reyes

 

Bachelor’s in International Business from Instituto Politécnico Nacional, Certified in Customs Operation by Consejo Empresarial Mexicano de Comercio Exterior (COMCE), with 5 years of experience in consulting and foreign trade compliance services for different industries, nowadays specialized on cosmetics, personal care and home care products.

David's main areas of practice include import and export requirements, rules of origin, and issues related to Free Trade Agreements, tariff classification, customs valuation, labeling norms, and many other regulatory and customs issues.

At present, he is the International Trade Specialist at Cámara Nacional de la Industria de Productos Cosméticos y de la Asociación Nacional de la Industria del Cuidado Personal y Cuidado del Hogar (CANIPEC), where coordinates the Foreign Trade Committee and his main functions are consulting; to ensure the attention and coordination of foreign trade and customs issues in national and international matters; to represent the cosmetic and home care products industry focused on legal, tax and commercial areas in front of authorities and other business representation bodies.

 

Johanna Irigaray

 

International Affairs Manager, Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association (CTPA)

Johanna studied chemistry in France and specialised in regulatory affairs whilst working for a third-party cosmetics manufacturer as an engineer apprentice.  After graduating in 2015, she moved to the UK and worked for a Fine Art Materials company as a Regulatory Affairs Analyst then a Regulatory Affairs Specialist, focussing on compliance for cosmetic and toy products.  Johanna joined the CTPA in December 2019, working on international regulatory matters as well as trade aspects for the cosmetics industry.  Her responsibilities include monitoring regulatory activities and technical barriers to trade for international regions, managing the CTPA International Committee and other international working groups, supporting members through queries, webinars and other CTPA International resources and participating to the wider industry collaboration internationally.

 

LATAC IMT

 

The LATAC IMT is the main point of contact for UK companies interested in doing business in Latin America & the Caribbean. It is a team with a multisectoral approach, which has allocated resources in Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica and Jamaica to provide assistance to the entire region. FTA Utilisation 

 

The Free Trade Agreement ustilisation team is working on different trade agreements of the UK with other countries and during this webinar the team is going to provide general information about the benefits of the cosmetics industry within the CPTPP.
