The Services for Sustainability Mission offers a significant opportunity to UK services firms and professionals to expand their presence in the world’s fastest growing major economy, particularly in the high-growth areas of sustainability and circular economy. The mission aims to showcase the complementarity between the wide range of innovative services offered by UK firms and the developmental priorities of India’s largest firms.

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is delighted to announce a Services for Sustainability Trade mission to India on 24-26 Februrary, 2025.
Objective
The mission offers a significant opportunity for experts and senior UK representatives of professional and business services firms to expand their presence in the world’s fastest growing major economy, particularly in the high-growth sectors of sustainability and the green economy. The mission aims to showcase the complementarity between the wide range of innovative services offered by UK firms and the developmental priorities of India’s largest firms.
Opportunity
With a goal to be a net-zero economy by 2070, India will require approximately $10.1 trillion to achieve net-zeroemissions by 2070, with an annual requirement of about $170 billion starting from 2026 to 2030. Indian business operations and development projects are actively seeking global expertise to execute large-scale development with a minimal carbon footprint. The launch of the UK-India Infrastructure Financing Bridge 2023 aimed at sharing in structuring and financing major infrastructure projects is a step in that direction.

UK professional and business services firms have considerable expertise in de-risking projects, providing ESG related advisory services and greening supply chains that can further enhance India's ability to attract green finance and execute climate-smart projects.

Through this mission, the Department for Business and Trade will provide an avenue for UK services firms to meet with major market players across a range of major industry sectors, network with like-minded firms and liaise with top government stakeholders.
