India Luxury Festival

Spring 2025

Are you a British luxury brand interested in exploring the opportunities that the vibrant luxury Indian market has to offer?

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is delighted to announce its first “Luxury Retail Festival” in Mumbai, India.

British luxury retail brands have the opportunity to join us for a five day festival that will coincide with UK National Day Celebrations in Mumbai, India.

This mission is aimed at ambitious luxury brands, iconic, heritage and emerging, looking to explore a retail footprint, or expand their presence in the world’s fastest growing major economy’s luxury market. It will provide an exclusive platform to showcase your brand, to discerning and affluent consumers, potential buyers, influencers, marketplaces and commercial partners in the region.

  • India’s real GDP is expected to grow at more than 6% every year between 2023 and 2028, according to Goldman Sachs Research. The wealth of affluent Indians is rapidly growing and according to the report titled “The rise of Affluent India” this cohort of affluent consumers will increase from around 60 million in 2023 to 100 million people by 2027.

  • According to the Wealth Report 2024 by global consultancy Knight Frank, the number of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (with a net worth of over US$ 30 million) is projected to increase from 13,263 in 2023 to 19,908 by 2028.

  • In 2023, India witnessed a 6.1% annual rise in the UHNI population compared to the previous year, reaching 13,263 individuals. Moreover, the counts of high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) are also expected to experience significant growth in the next five years.
