CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

 

We invite researchers, healthcare professionals, and advocates to submit abstracts for poster presentations at the EMSP Annual Conference 2025, titled “Prevention in Multiple Sclerosis and Related Disorders: Uncovering Risk and Protective Factors”. This year’s conference will focus on multi-dimensional prevention strategies, encompassing the impact of ageing, comorbidities, and inclusive care in the management of MS and related conditions.

 

 
Topics of interest:
 
We are looking for poster submissions that align with the conference’s focus on prevention and innovation in MS care. A potential list of topics of your posters could include the following areas: 
 
  • Risk factors and protective mechanisms: Research on genetic, lifestyle, and environmental factors that impact MS onset or progression. 
  • Ageing and MS: Studies addressing how ageing influences MS symptoms, cognitive and physical health, and management strategies for older adults with MS. 
  • Comorbidities and MS risk: Impact of conditions like obesity, hypertension, cancer, and diabetes on MS progression and management. 
  • Comorbidities and holistic care: Research on managing common MS comorbidities such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and mental health conditions, and how they affect treatment outcomes. 
  • Innovative prevention methods: Insights into emerging tools like biomarkers, Artificial Intelligence, and digital health solutions that support early intervention, personalised treatment, and disease prevention. 
  • Inclusive care models: Approaches for integrating diverse patient perspectives and addressing health disparities across different population groups, including vulnerable and underrepresented communities. 
  • Mental health, resilience, and MS: Stress, social support, and their effects on MS severity; mental health interventions as preventive strategies. 
  • Sleep disorders and MS progression: How sleep quality affects MS risk and potential preventive interventions. 
  • Public awareness and early symptom education: Effective public education models for early detection and prevention of severe MS stages.

  • Abstract length: 250–300 words 
  • Deadline: 28th February 2025 
  • Please include the source of funding and potential conflict of interests in all posters.
