Making high-quality, evidence-based submissions to SMC can mean the difference between successful or very limited access to NHS Scotland for medicines.
This workshop will be delivered by Dr Catriona McMahon, the Lead Industry Member for SMC, and will focus on SMC's specific requirements. The content has been shaped by the many questions that companies have asked over the years regarding what to do and when. It is specifically designed for staff in pharmaceutical companies who are preparing SMC submissions and the consultancies that are supporting them.
‘How to prepare and submit to SMC’ has been developed for those who intend to submit to the SMC in 2025/2026. The goal of the workshop is to support companies as they prepare to make their best submission to SMC, and the focus will be on 'normal' SMC processes (including the Ultra-Orphan Pathway and Interim Acceptance). Whilst they remain relevant, the workshops will include information about the interim processes SMC has introduced to ensure the throughput of activities during, and since, the COVID pandemic.
Via presentations and open Q&A, attendees will gain deep insight into what makes a good submission to SMC. The programme will also include a guest speaker from SMC, who will update you on recent SMC activities and take questions.
‘What makes a good submission to SMC?’ is an opportunity to hear:
Following the workshop, you will receive a copy of the slides presented and an FAQ document which includes all the questions asked since the workshops commenced (and their answers).
