Rachel Blackburn MBE
Director, US2U Consulting
US2U Consulting, based in Norfolk, delivers a range of tailored management consultancy services to enable businesses to be more successful. These include business planning, building brand values, setting the culture, developing the people and executive coaching. As an Export Champion, US2U Consulting has delivered these services across various parts of Europe and the Middle East. Its current focus is India and the US.
The company attributes up to 30% of its turnover to export. Rachel’s top tips are, ”to use all networks including DBT to build relationships with key decision makers and influencers, to take advantage of any trade missions, training, conferences and any funding that’s available and then be persistent; international new business tends not to happen overnight.”

Nagma Ebanks-Beni MBE
CEO, Prima Cheese
Multi Award winning Prima Cheese was established in 1996 with a strong family heritage at the heart of the business. With a 28 year history, Prima Cheese has grown to become the UK’s leading cheese processor within the B2B market. Established and well respected for its innovative and fresh approach, Prima has diversified from its core product of pizza cheese into becoming one of the nation's top dairy processors, supplying primarily into food service and food manufacturing markets.
Always looking to expand and push its boundaries, Prima Cheese entered into markets in 2010 and hasn’t looked back since! Opening its first office outside of Prima HQ in the North East, the company has invested in establishing a London office to grow its Commercial Team to accommodate its ambitions for 24/25. Prima Cheese won the Queen’s Award in 2021 along with a host of other accolades and industry awards over the years for its business process and investment in its people. Nagma says “Export was a key growth channel which today sees the company exporting its products to over 55 markets worldwide. Demand remains strong for our product internationally, with plans underway to expand into new and emerging markets in the coming year.”

BeGenio is an early stage, social impact business creating products that helps children love maths. The company’s aim is to make maths fun and less daunting for kids and their parents using EdTech.
BeGenio uses play-learning, maths gamification and creative, innovative teaching methodologies to increase confidence, fluency, critical, analytical, creative thinking and eradicate mathematical anxiety.

Julianne Ponan MBE
Founder, Creative Nature
Julianne became owner and CEO of Creative Nature, a superfood brand, in 2012. Surrey based Creative Nature creates free from snacks, home baking mixes and superfoods that are free from the top 14 allergens and contain less sugar than other brands. Its products are stocked in Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Tesco. Julianne was also awarded an MBE for Business, Export and helping people with allergies.
Creative Nature currently exports to over 16 countries including the Middle East, Singapore, Australia and USA. Exporting has helped Creative Nature to increase its turnover and, because its products are manufactured in Britain, this holds a lot of prestige. Julianne advises: “Research the market before you enter it. It’s important to find the right partners or distributors and make yourself available to speak with them in their time zone. If offering exclusive distribution, make sure you have an agreement in place on the length of time and the termination clauses just in case it doesn’t work out.”

Navigating the Future: Key Global Economic Trends
Professor Sangeeta Khorana
Aston University
Professor Sangeeta Khorana is the Endowed Chair of International Trade Policy at Aston Business School. She holds a PhD from the University of St. Gallen, a summa cum laude Master's in Trade Law and Economics, and an MA in Economics. Her research encompasses numerous books, chapters, and over 70 journal articles on trade policy. She has led projects for global institutions such as the European Commission, World Bank, and Commonwealth Secretariat. Beyond academia, Professor Khorana serves as a Trustee Director on boards in the UK, USA, and India. She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade (MCIEx) and a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy.

Founder & Managing Director, Urban Apothecary London
A successful beauty entrepreneur and business leader, Tajinder Banwait MBE has grown her fragrance lifestyle brand, Urban Apothecary London, into one of the UK’s most dynamic companies. As the perfumer-alchemist, she created this multi-million-pound business in 2012 from her kitchen table in Leicester. This unique British brand manufactures and retails luxury home, bath and body products.
Exporting began in 2018, and now, the modern apothecary collection can be found in 34 international markets. Accolades include a 2022 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade for outstanding short-term growth in overseas sales. Early in 2024, recognising the positive impact of her work, Tajinder was awarded an MBE for services to Business and the Beauty Industry. Tajinder has proven to be an influential advocate for international trade.

Today it operates across 26 jurisdictions and has offices in Brisbane & Melbourne and an HQ in Birmingham. Lis is a former President of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and former Chair of the PRCA. She was awarded Freedom of the City of London in 2023, received Fellowship of the PRCA for global services to the PR Industry in 2024 and in 2025 was named Business Woman of the Year.
