The NICE/DSU/ABPI Masterclasses are unique in being focused solely on the specific requirements of NICE and its Appraisal Committees and on the challenges associated with key areas of evidence generation and methodology.
This masterclass ‘Methods for the analysis of non-randomised, patient level data for the estimation of treatment effects’ covers an increasingly important area of methodology and has been developed for those who are currently involved in developing submissions to the NICE technology appraisals programme. It is suitable for those who are familiar with economic evaluation and the requirements of the NICE Guide to the Methods of Technology Appraisal. It does not require any specific statistical knowledge but will assume that attendees are familiar with simple concepts like regression. Please note, this masterclass considers methods that are used when the analyst has access to individual patient level data for at least one of the relevant technologies. It does not deal with those scenarios where the analyst only has access to summary statistics from published studies. It is intended to be of relevance either to those wishing to perform such analyses or to critically appraise them.
This masterclass is an opportunity to hear directly from members of the NICE Decision Support Unit and NICE on:
The day will consist of a mixture of formal presentations, discussion and group exercises centred around real-life examples and published papers.
