Wales Health Tech Day and Business Networking Reception

Thank you for confirming your attendance to Wales Health Tech Day on 24th June 2025. We are delighted to be able to host you on the UK Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.
In this pack you will find some useful information to assist you ahead of arriving at the event.

Location: IHG Hospitality Suite, Level 3, UK Pavillion, Osaka Expo 2025, Yumeshimanaka, Konohana-ku, Osaka
Dress code: Smart Buinsess Casual
Style of event: Seminar, Demonstrations and Evening Reception
Language: Simultaneous interpretation will be provided for the panel sessions, and an interpreter will also be based at each exhibition stand.
Make sure to arrive at the Expo gates at least one hour ahead of the event start time to allow for queues, and navigating to the UK Pavilion.
If required, you will receive an Expo ticket at least one week before this event, and details on how to redeem it.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Plus-ones: Due to the limited availability of tickets, additional guests are not permitted
Photography: Please be aware that there will be photographers and videographers at the event, recording footage of the celebrations, including of the guests. Audio and visual content will be uploaded to His Majesty’s Government’s social media channels following the event. Guests will be welcomed to take their own photographs and videos at the event.

Please note that photography and videography will take place throughout the event. Footage may be used in promotional materials and shared on Wales Government’s official social media channels.
SITE MAP
Expo 2025 is held on the artificial island of Yumeshima, which is in Osaka Bay, close to Universal Studios Japan and Tempozan/Osaka Aquarium.
TRAVEL
Metro
The Osaka Metro Chuo Line is directly connected to Yumeshima Station, which is in front of the Expo site (East Gate).
If travelling from JR Shin-Osaka Station, you have two route options:
- Via the JR Kyoto Line / Osaka Loop Line (Inner loop), changing at JR Bentencho for the Osaka Metro Chuo Line.
- Via the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line, changing at Hommachi Station for the Osaka Metro Chuo Line.
Bus
A direct shuttle bus service to the Expo site (West Gate) is available from Sakurajima Station on the JR Yumesaki Line. A separate fare is required for the shuttle bus. You will require an Expo ID to use the station shuttle bus.
There are bus services from other major railway stations across the city including Sakurajima Station, Shin-Osaka Station, Osaka Station, Nakanoshima Station, Benten-cho Station (temporary service), Amagasaki Station, Uehonmachi Station, Tennoji Station, Namba Station, Sakai Station, and Sakai Higashi Station.
Car
If you are coming by car, please park at the Expo Park & Ride parking lot in Maishima, Amagasaki, or Sakai, and then transfer to the Park & Ride shuttle bus to the Expo site.
You must make a reservation for the Expo Park & Ride parking lot at least one day in advance.
The Park & Ride shuttle bus can only be used by those with a reservation for the Expo Park & Ride parking lot.
You will require an Expo ID to make a reservation.
Taxi
There is a taxi rank located near Transportation Terminal 1. This is around 180m from the West Gate. If you are using a taxi to leave the Expo site after the event, you can find more information about the specific pick up zones here.
ENTRY
Tickets
If required, you will receive an Expo ticket at least one week before this event, and details on how to redeem it.
Bags and luggage
Suitcases, carry-on cases, and carts are not allowed at the Expo site. Large luggage should be left at hotels or lockers at train stations/airports.
Off-site temporary storage facilities are available for JPY ¥1,000/item at Bentencho and Sakurajima Stations, along with a delivery service for larger baggage starting at JPY ¥1,500/item.
Only bags fitting within W600mm x D900mm x H400mm can be brought onto the site, as this is the maximum size for X-ray inspection.
Luggage with wheels is prohibited, regardless of size.

Accessibility
There are Accessibility Centres at both East and West gates. These centres provide services and facilities for anyone with disabilities, elderly people, and pregnant people.
Wheelchairs and electric mobility scooters can be hired from these centres. All Expo sites are wheelchair accessible.
There is accessible parking available at the East gate, at the Yumashima car park. Taxi drop off is available at the West gate.

LOCATION
The UK Pavilion is located in the South of the Expo site, opposite the Water Plaza, along Seaside Avenue. On Expo site maps, it is marked as S22, in the Saving Lives Zone. It is around a 15-20 minute walk from both East and West gates.

The UK Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka invites you on an unforgettable journey through British culture, heritage, and innovation. Come and explore our interactive and immersive exhibition through the UK's vibrant cities, uncover our fascinating history, and discover the exciting opportunities awaiting us all in a future we can build together.
During the event, you will have the opportunity to visit the Come Build The Future Visitor Exhibition. You will have selected a tour time during your registration. Please email WelshGov@brayleinoevents.com if you would like to be reminded of your selected time.
The optional tour times are:

Bilingual guides will be available to assist you throughout your experience, and each tour will include subtitles in either Japanese or English - whichever is the opposite of the language used in the tour.
FACILITIES
UK Pavilion Restaurant
Found on the ground floor of the UK Pavilion with views over the gardens, visitors can choose from a range of options at our restaurant. The UK Pavilion’s menu offers the chance to sample dishes from every corner of the UK.
Johnnie Walker Bar
The perfect place to take a break from exploring Expo – enjoy a well-earned drink at the Johnnie Walker Bar on Level 2. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and cocktails, including quintessentially British Pimm's, English Sparkling Wine and the newly released Johnnie Walker Black Ruby.
Gift Shop
The UK Pavilion gift shop will offer a range of products, from fun items featuring our mascot, PIX, to our selection of ‘Best of British’. Choose from an array of UK food and drink offerings and memorabilia inspired by famous UK-characters.
The IHG Hotels & Resorts Hospitality Suite
Guests attending an event in The IHG Hotels & Resorts Hospitality Suite will be able to skip the queue to enter the UK Pavilion by taking the lift or stairs directly to the 3rd Floor.
Wi-Fi
A safe, secure and seamless public Wi-Fi service that supports OpenRoaming will be provided within the Expo Site by Expo themselves. By downloading the app in advance, visitors will be able to automatically and securely connect to various Wi-Fi spots inside the Expo site.
Cloakroom
There is a cloakroom located on Level 3 in the lobby to the event spaces.
Toilets
The UK Pavilion has toilets and accessible toilets on Level 1 and Level 3.
Prayer Room
The Expo prayer room will be located near the northeast of the Forest of Tranquillity.
Translation
All signage and menus on the pavilion will be in both Japanese and English, and there will be bi-lingual staff on hand.
EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
Fire
On discovery of a fire, please take the following action:
- Tell a member of Pavilion staff or the event team and give the location and nature of the incident
- Make your way out of the Pavilion by the nearest fire exit, please do not use the lifts, please disperse from the area surrounding the Pavilion
Medical
If you or one of your group requires medical assistance while on the UK Pavilion please notify a member of the Pavilion team as soon as possible.
Earthquakes
Earthquakes in Japan are common, but most are minor. To reduce risk, follow these safety steps during an earthquake:
- Drop, Cover, and Hold: Get under a desk for stability, protect your head from falling items, and hold onto something to stay in place.
- Stay away from windows, heavy furniture, and appliances to avoid injury from breaking or collapsing items.
- Avoid using lifts or elevators during or immediately after an earthquake.
