The ESA 2026 Welcome Reception will be held at Terrazza Caffarelli, an exclusive rooftop venue situated atop Palazzo Caffarelli on Rome's historic Capitoline Hill.
Positioned adjacent to the Capitoline Museums, Terrazza Caffarelli provides sweeping panoramic views of Rome's historic center, including landmarks such as the Roman Forum, the Pantheon, and the domes of ancient basilicas.
The Capitoline Hill, known as Campidoglio, is the smallest yet most significant of Rome's seven hills. It has been the political and religious heart of the city since ancient times, symbolizing Rome's status as Caput Mundi, the "head of the world."
Terrazza Caffarelli offers an exceptional setting to inaugurate the ESA 2026 Congress, providing attendees with an unforgettable experience amidst Rome's timeless beauty.
The ESA 2026 Gala Dinner will be hosted at Villa Piccolomini, a distinguished 15th-century residence nestled along Via Aurelia Antica, adjacent to Rome's Colle del Gianicolo. Set within a serene, centuries-old park, the villa offers panoramic views of the Eternal City, including the iconic dome of St. Peter's Basilica.
Originally established in the mid-15th century, Villa Piccolomini has undergone various transformations, reflecting the rich tapestry of Roman history. In 1942, the villa was bequeathed to the Fondazione Nicolò Piccolomini, serving as a testament to its enduring cultural significance.
Today, Villa Piccolomini stands as a harmonious blend of historical elegance and natural beauty, providing an exceptional setting for the ESA 2026 Social Dinner. Attendees will experience an unforgettable evening amidst Rome's timeless charm.
The Gala Dinner is not included in the registration fee and requires an additional payment
