Frequently Asked Questions

Does my video have to be in English?

Not at all! You can create your video in English, French, or even a mix of both languages - whatever feels most natural to you. On the day itself, some speakers might present in English, so having a basic understanding would be helpful, but don't worry if you're not fluent. We want to hear your authentic voice!

What if I live far from Paris?

Distance is no barrier! The embassy will cover all travel costs for both you and your accompanying adult from anywhere in metropolitan France. We actively encourage girls from every corner of the country to apply - whether you're from a bustling city or a small village, we'd love to hear from you.

What happens if my video is longer than 2 minutes?

We won't be able to consider videos that exceed the 2-minute limit, so make sure to keep an eye on that timer! Think of it as a creative challenge - how can you showcase your passion and ideas in those 120 seconds? Quality over quantity!

I'm 14 now but turn 15 in March - can I still apply?

Absolutely! As long as you'll be between 15 and 18 years old by 31st March, you're eligible to apply. So start working on that video!

Can I bring a friend for support?

While the programme is designed for individual participants, you're welcome to bring one accompanying adult (parent, guardian, or teacher) who can accompany you while travelling or if you are staying overnight, but the day itself will be reserved for you and the other candidates.

What if I'm nervous about speaking in front of people?

It's completely normal to feel nervous - even ambassadors feel nervous sometimes! The day is designed to be supportive and encouraging. You'll be surrounded by other young women just like you, and our team will help you feel at ease.

Do I need any special qualifications or experience?

Not at all! We're looking for enthusiasm, curiosity, and fresh perspectives. Whether you're interested in politics, international relations, or just want to learn something new, we want to hear from you.

What should I wear to the event?

Come as yourself! There's no strict dress code, but smart casual works well. Think about what makes you feel confident and comfortable - you'll be meeting professionals and other inspiring young women.
