ASEAN TradeTech Lookbook
World trade is changing fast, and digital trade is now a decisive enabler. When trade documents are issued, exchanged and validated digitally; when border and customs processes shift to electronic submission and risk-based clearance; when logistics is better coordinated across carriers and modes; and when trade finance and payments become faster and more transparent, cross-border commerce becomes cheaper, easier and faster. That is the promise of TradeTech.
This Lookbook is designed for ASEAN stakeholders translating digitalisation objectives into operational reality. The opportunity now is to extend interoperable, secure, trusted digital workflows across more trade procedures, sectors and markets.
The ASEAN TradeTech Lookbook will be launched at UK-Southeast Asia Tech Week 2026, and we are thrilled to preview two of the featured companies.
Boex
Boex helps SMEs manage trade documentation digitally, replacing manual, paper-based processes with secure and legally enforceable digital workflows. The platform simplifies how core trade documents are created, verified and finalised, reducing administrative effort, errors and processing delays that often make cross-border trade costly and complex for smaller firms.
Boex digitises the full trade documentation lifecycle, turning static documents into structured, auditable digital records that can be shared and verified in real time. Built in line with the UK Electronic Trade Documents Act (ETDA) 2023, the platform provides legal certainty without requiring SMEs to maintain specialist legal or compliance teams. This allows smaller businesses to access capabilities typically reserved for larger firms through a straightforward subscription model.
The impact of this approach can be seen in Boex’s work with Jointine Products in the UK and its trading partner, Klinger in Australia. Previously, staff repeatedly entered the same information across multiple systems, creating delays, inconsistencies and limited visibility over shipments. By consolidating all trade documents into a single digital environment and linking them to accounting systems, Boex reduced errors, improved tracking and made financial reconciliation faster and more reliable.
LogChain
LogChain is a digital logistics platform designed to replace fragmented, paper-based processes with a single, trusted source of information across the supply chain. It enables companies involved in cross-border trade to work from the same data, reducing duplication, errors and delays while improving visibility and coordination across shipments.
Trade and logistics documents are digitised and managed through shared workflows, giving all authorised participants real-time insight into progress and potential issues. Access controls and audit trails ensure that sensitive commercial information remains secure, while still supporting transparency and accountability across multiple stakeholders.
LogChain’s approach has been proven in high-value, time-critical environments. One example is its work with Singapore Aero Engine Services Private Limited (SAESL), a joint venture between Rolls-Royce and SIA Engineering Company. SAESL manages the repair and overhaul of more than 300 Rolls-Royce Trent engines each year and oversees complex international engine shipments. Prior to LogChain, teams relied on disconnected manual processes that increased operational risk and made coordination difficult.
Working with SAESL, LogChain mapped export procedures and delivered a fully digital shipment of civil aircraft engine parts from Singapore to the UK. The process was completed end-to-end in five days, with operational teams onboarded in under an hour, improving visibility, reducing risk and streamlining collaboration.
