Open Call for Sponsorship: UK–India FTA Roadshow

Event Overview

The UK–India Free Trade Agreement (FTA), due to enter into force in 2026, is one of the most significant trade developments deals the UK has done and is expected to boost UK GDP by £4.8bn a year.

To help businesses make the most of this landmark opportunity, we're taking the UK–India FTA Roadshow to cities across all four nations of the UK. The Roadshow will highlight information about the FTA and the comprehensive support available from both government and the private sector; from tariff reductions to regulatory changes, and from sector-specific opportunities to export readiness.

The Roadshow is designed to focus firmly on what this opportunity means in practice for businesses seeking to grow their exports to India.

Over two weeks, the programme will provide businesses with the clarity, confidence, and connections they need to enter or grow within one of the world's fastest-growing major economies. Each Roadshow event aims to bring in up to 150 attendees, with a schedule made up of interactive workshops, fireside sessions, and seminars.

The Roadshow will be visiting:

  • Wednesday 17 June: Leeds

  • Thursday 18 June: Belfast

  • Monday 22 June: Edinburgh

  • Tuesday 23 June: Cardiff

  • Wednesday 24 June: Birmingham

  • Thursday 25 June: Manchester

Attending delegates will gain:

  • An understanding of what the UK-India FTA means for their businesses

  • Knowledge of how the FTA can make their business more competitive and attractive to Indian buyers

  • Insights that demystify exporting

  • Connections with Indian buyers, distributors, and the UK's export support network

  • Inspiration from real UK success stories

  • Advice on what practical next steps can be taken and how to accelerate market entry

  • An understanding of business culture in India and practical culture advice for working in the Indian market

Delegates will have direct access to connect with senior HMG representatives, sector and market specialists from our UK High Commission and Consulates, and potential Indian buyers.
