Alexander Holcroft has worked within the Finance sector for over 25 years.
After graduating he joined Robert Fleming Securities, initially as an Emerging Markets strategist before joining the Bank's research team as a European Banks Analyst. Subsequently he joined BNP Paribas specialising in European Investment Banks.
Alexander moved into the Asset Management industry in 2004 as a European Banks analyst with Mitsubishi UFJ Trust International, later assuming the role of Head of Research.
He joined NatWest in 2010, with specific responsibility for the Equity IR effort before becoming Head of Investor Relations in 2019.
Howard was appointed Chairman of the Group on 1 September 2015. Prior to joining the Group, Howard was Chairman of the Phoenix Group, chaired the UK Airports Commission and was the Director of the London School of Economics and Political Science. Howard also chaired the UK Financial Services Authority then the single regulator for the UK financial services sector.
Earlier in his career Howard worked in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, including two years as Private Secretary to the British Ambassador in Paris, the Treasury, McKinsey and Co, and as Controller of the Audit Commission. Howard has been a Professor of Practice at the French School of Political Science in Paris (Sciences Po) since 2011.
He was educated at Manchester Grammar School, Merton College, Oxford and Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Katie Murray joined the Group as Director of Finance in November 2015 and was appointed as Deputy Chief Financial Officer in March 2017. She was then appointed as Group Chief Financial Officer in January 2019.
Katie has worked in Finance and Accounting for nearly 30 years with experience in capital management, investor relations, financial planning and all areas of financial services. Katie was previously the Group Finance Director for Old Mutual Emerging Markets, based in Johannesburg from 2011-2015, having held various roles across Old Mutual from 2002. Prior to this Katie worked at KPMG for 13 years.
Katie is a Chartered Accountant having trained in Scotland and is a member of ICAS.
Patrick Flynn was appointed as a Non-executive Director of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group (now NatWest Group) in June 2018 and in February 2019 became Chairman of the Group and NatWest Holdings Audit Committees. He is a member of Board Risk Committee, Group Nominations and Governance Committee, and Technology and Innovation Committee. Patrick is also a Non-executive Director and Audit Committee Chairman of Aviva, holding these positions since July 2019.
Previously, Patrick was the Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Executive Board of ING Group from April 2009 to May 2017, and prior to that, he worked at HSBC for 20 years. Patrick is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, and a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers in the UK.
