Hop on the red Vilnius Tour Bus and it will take you to top city’s attractions. The open-top bus ride offers numerous panoramic views of the city. Plus, you can hop-off and hop-on the bus at any one of the stops, which are conveniently located all along the route.

THE PALACE OF THE GRAND DUKES OF LITHUANIA

 

During the 15th, 16th centuries and the first half of the 17th century, the Palace of the Grand Dukes was a political, diplomatic, administrative and cultural center of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

At the beginning of the 19th century, at the initiative of the tsarist Russian administration, the residence of Lithuanian rulers was destroyed and restored only in 2013. 

The National Museum, at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania four main routes can be viewed that reflect the functions of this historic residence.

MUSEUM OF APPLIED ARTS AND DESIGN

 

The perfect place for those interested in the decorative arts, this museum regularly hosts exceptional fashion, jewellery and applied arts exhibitions. In collaboration with fashion historian Alexandre Vassiliev’s foundation, the Museum of Applied Arts and Design showcases authentic collections of clothes and accessories from the 18th-20th century.

MO MUSEUM

 

MO Museum, a personal initiative of Lithuanian scientists and philanthropists Danguolė and Viktoras Butkus, functioned as an art museum without walls for close to ten years. The collection of around 6 000 modern and contemporary pieces contains major Lithuanian artworks from the 1960s to this day.

Vilnius’ newest museum is a must for modern art lovers and those interested in seeing works by modern and contemporary Lithuanian artists. Designed by renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, the MO Museum is a work of modern art in itself and has already won several architecture prizes.

NATIONAL GALLERY OF ART

 

The purpose of the National Gallery of Art is to collect, research and present Lithuanian art of the 20th and 21st centuries to Lithuanian and foreign visitors as a part of the global modern art culture. The aim is to collect and get to know Lithuanian art heritage of this period, broaden the audience's horizons, enhance local art relations with art of other countries, promote new interpretations of Lithuanian art, and develop the culture of perception of visual art.
